Robert Walters has released the 22nd edition of its Salary Survey, presented in a brand-new digital format. The Salary Survey not only provides a comprehensive salary guide for both hiring managers and job seekers, it also includes video updates on market conditions in various sectors from our industry experts.
For Indonesia, the four key growth areas of 2020 – healthcare, e-commerce, logistics, and technology, will see continued hiring activities this year. Some industries experienced an upside in business as a consequence of the pandemic, as more consumers started actively reconsidering their health needs, such as increasing their insurance coverage. The e-commerce and logistics sectors in particular performed well as customers switched from consuming goods through physical to online stores. Fintech companies saw a spike in business with more consumers paying through virtual wallets. The pandemic has also accelerated the natural digitalisation process of many traditional businesses to sell and engage with their customers through various digital channels.
Eric Mary, Country Manager for Indonesia, Robert Walters explained, “We expect two key trends to be prominent in Indonesia in 2021. One, companies are set to accelerate their digital transformation process, and two, teams will have to do more despite a reduced headcount. Organisations’ digital transformation needs will require tech and digital professionals. We also expect to see targeted recruitment of professionals in functions such as human resources (HR) and finance, as companies restructure and upskill their employees to suit a new digital climate.”
