What you'll do:

As Department Manager – Oil & Gas Petrochemicals, you will be responsible for managing the department's people, commercial activities, operational planning and financial performance.

Your key responsibilities will include:

• Lead and manage the department, providing direction, coaching and support to team members while fostering a collaborative and accountable working environment.
• Take ownership of the department's overall business performance, working closely with the Division Manager to achieve strategic and commercial objectives.
• Develop and execute business strategies and annual plans aligned with the wider Oil & Gas division and company objectives.
• Prepare and manage the department's operational budget, including expense planning, cost control and resource allocation.
• Lead the forecasting process, monitoring business performance against budgets and identifying corrective actions where required.
• Analyse and interpret financial statements and key financial indicators to support business decisions.
• Monitor key business indicators including sales performance, profitability, stock levels, debtor balances and other relevant financial metrics.
• Identify and develop new business opportunities within the Oil & Gas and Petrochemicals market.

What you bring:

The ideal candidate for the Department Manager – Oil & Gas Petrochemicals role brings 10–15+ years of relevant professional experience, with substantial exposure to the Oil & Gas and/or Petrochemicals industry.

You will have demonstrated experience not only in sales or commercial activities, but also in leading people and managing a business function, with a strong understanding of budgets, forecasts and financial performance.

• Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering, Petroleum Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum 10–15 years of relevant experience, preferably within Oil & Gas, Petrochemicals or a closely related industrial sector.
• Proven experience in people management and leadership.
• Demonstrated ability to manage both people and business performance.
• Strong experience in business strategy, budgeting and forecasting.
• Ability to read, understand and interpret financial statements and use financial information to support business decisions.
• Strong commercial understanding with experience managing customers, business portfolios and growth initiatives.
• Good understanding of Oil & Gas and Petrochemicals industry dynamics.
