Operations Manager (QSR) Salary: Competitive and based on experience Location: Jakarta Keywords: collaborative, supportive leadership, growth leadership, inclusive, dependable, training opportunities, flexible working opportunities, generous pensions contributions, knowledgeable, interpersonal

A leading Indonesian group is embarking on an exciting new journey, expanding into the Retail Food and Beverage and Quick Service Restaurant sector with a brand-new business unit. They are seeking an Operations Manager to play a foundational role in building this venture from the ground up. This is a rare opportunity for you to shape operational excellence, establish systems, and create a culture that will define the future of the business. You will enjoy direct access to senior leadership, influence every aspect of store operations, and be instrumental in launching the first outlets. The organisation offers a supportive environment backed by financial strength and industry legacy, ensuring your career growth aligns with the expansion roadmap. If you thrive in collaborative settings, value flexibility, and want to make a lasting impact, this is your chance to lead and nurture a team while enjoying generous benefits and training opportunities.

  • You will be the first operational leader responsible for building the entire operations infrastructure from scratch, setting standards and frameworks that will guide the business unit’s success.
  • Direct access to senior leadership ensures your ideas are heard and valued, providing you with unique influence over strategic decisions and operational direction.
  • Enjoy a supportive workplace culture with flexible working opportunities, training programmes, and career progression tied directly to business growth within an established conglomerate.

What you'll do:

As Operations Manager you will be at the heart of launching a new business unit within a renowned consumer goods group. Your day-to-day responsibilities will involve designing operational frameworks from scratch—establishing SOPs, workflows, vendor relationships—and collaborating with senior leaders on strategic rollouts. You will oversee multiple outlets’ daily operations by monitoring KPIs such as speed of service or waste management while conducting regular audits for continuous improvement. Maintaining impeccable hygiene standards through HACCP compliance is crucial alongside recruiting and nurturing store managers who embody performance-driven values. Financial stewardship is also key: managing budgets efficiently ensures sustainable growth. Your ability to build structure where none exists will set the tone for operational excellence throughout this venture’s early phase.

  • Lead all pre-launch operational groundwork including creating standard operating procedures, developing store readiness frameworks, and assembling teams to ensure seamless setup.
  • Define and implement operational standards, workflows, and accountability structures from scratch to foster consistency across all outlets.
  • Collaborate closely with senior leadership to plan and execute the rollout of initial outlets, ensuring each location meets organisational expectations.
  • Establish vendor relationships, supply chain processes, and maintenance partnerships required for efficient outlet operations.
  • Oversee daily operations across multiple outlets, ensuring strict adherence to SOPs while monitoring key performance indicators such as speed of service, order accuracy, waste management, and throughput.
  • Conduct regular store visits and operational audits to assess performance levels, identify areas for improvement, and drive corrective actions.
  • Ensure stores are fully equipped, adequately staffed, and prepared at all times to meet customer demand while maintaining high service standards.
  • Own and enforce cleanliness, sanitation, and food safety compliance by implementing HACCP protocols and local regulatory requirements across all locations.
  • Recruit, mentor, and develop store managers along with their teams from inception; oversee workforce planning, scheduling, labour efficiency, and drive training initiatives.
  • Manage operational budgets by controlling costs of goods sold (COGS), labour expenses, overheads at outlet level; analyse P&L statements to improve unit economics.

What you bring:

The ideal candidate for Operations Manager brings extensive experience in QSR or retail F&B environments—having managed multiple outlets or regional portfolios with proven reliability. Your educational background may span hospitality or business fields but what sets you apart is hands-on exposure during setup phases: launching new brands or building frameworks from scratch. You possess deep technical knowledge about kitchen flows as well as front-of-house operations coupled with expertise in hygiene standards like HACCP. Your interpersonal skills shine when mentoring teams; you’re adept at designing SOPs that drive efficiency while maintaining high accountability. Analytical abilities allow you to interpret data swiftly—making informed decisions that optimise costs without compromising quality. Above all else your collaborative spirit ensures harmonious cross-functional relationships as you help shape this new venture’s culture.

  • Bachelor’s degree in any field is required; hospitality, business administration or food technology qualifications are highly regarded.
  • Minimum 7 to 12 years of progressive experience in quick service restaurant (QSR), retail food & beverage or food service operations is essential.
  • Proven track record managing multiple outlets or regional portfolios demonstrates your dependability in overseeing complex operations.
  • Prior managerial experience at Operations Manager or Area/Regional Manager level equips you with strong people development skills.
  • Hands-on background covering store operations including enforcing brand standards shows your commitment to quality.
  • Experience in setup or pre-opening phases such as greenfield launches or new brand rollouts is strongly preferred for this foundational role.
  • Deep understanding of QSR operational systems including kitchen flow management, front-of-house coordination and service standards ensures smooth functioning.
  • Expertise in cleanliness protocols including HACCP or equivalent food safety standards highlights your sensitivity towards health regulations.
  • Ability to design SOPs plus implement operational frameworks reflects your knowledgeability in process optimisation.
  • Data-driven mindset enables you to read metrics quickly and take corrective action; proficiency in P&L management supports cost control efforts.
  • Effective communicator who collaborates cross-functionally within fast-growing organisations fosters inclusive teamwork.

What sets this company apart:

This organisation stands out due to its strong legacy within Indonesia’s business sector combined with ambitious expansion into retail F&B/QSR—a move supported by robust financial backing. Employees benefit from direct access to senior leadership which encourages open communication and shared decision-making.
