A leading FMCG retail organisation is seeking a Business Transformation Manager to play a pivotal role in driving commercial transformation and digital initiatives across Southeast Asia, with a primary focus on Indonesia. This is an exceptional opportunity for you to bridge the gap between commercial, digital, technology, business development, and market teams, ensuring the delivery of standardised, high-quality solutions that enhance commercial performance and customer experience. You will be at the heart of strategic projects, supporting the rollout of new systems and processes while safeguarding core commercial fundamentals. The organisation offers a collaborative environment where your expertise will directly influence business growth, operational excellence, and the brand’s health and beauty positioning. If you are passionate about shaping the future of retail through data-driven strategies and cross-functional teamwork, this role provides the platform to make a significant impact.
- Be instrumental in delivering major digital and technology transformation programmes across multiple markets, ensuring seamless integration of commercial strategy with system and process design.
- Work closely with regional leadership teams to drive commercial performance, enhance customer experience, and support new business development initiatives in a supportive and inclusive environment.
What you'll do:
As a Business Transformation Manager, you will be responsible for orchestrating complex transformation initiatives that span digital technology adoption, ERP implementation, franchise expansion, and new business development. Your day-to-day activities will involve collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure that all system designs are commercially sound and scalable. You will facilitate workshops that bring together stakeholders from various departments—such as IT, finance, supply chain, marketing, operations—to align on strategic goals. By conducting thorough fit-gap analyses between global standards and local market needs (including regulatory compliance), you will help shape solutions that balance standardisation with necessary localisation. Your analytical skills will be put to use designing robust KPIs within ERP systems to drive actionable insights. Additionally, you will play a key role in preparing markets for change by supporting training efforts and monitoring adoption rates post-rollout. Through close partnership with regional leaders on franchise operations and direct business matters, you will ensure that all initiatives are executed seamlessly. Your ability to leverage data analytics tools will allow you to identify opportunities for space optimisation while leading continuous improvement projects that keep the organisation ahead of industry trends. Ultimately, your work will underpin strategic decision-making at every level—enabling the company to achieve its ambitious growth targets while maintaining operational excellence.
- Represent the commercial function in programme workshops and design decisions, ensuring system, process, and data design align with commercial strategy and are scalable across markets.
- Act as the single point of contact for commercial requirements across Southeast Asian markets, partnering with project management, IT, finance, supply chain, and operations teams for cohesive execution.
- Define and validate core commercial processes within ERP systems—including assortment planning, product hierarchy, pricing strategies, promotions management, supplier funding models, and trade terms—to support competitive pricing and credible customer-led assortments.
- Lead fit-gap analysis for local markets by identifying gaps between global blueprints and local regulatory or commercial requirements; recommend standardisation or localisation with clear business rationale.
- Support governance forums by providing structured inputs on trade-offs, risks, and commercial impacts while proactively identifying risks and driving mitigation strategies.
- Design key commercial KPIs and reporting requirements within ERP platforms to enable data-driven decision making, process simplification, and standardisation across regions.
- Support market readiness for new processes by aligning ways of working across countries; monitor post-implementation performance and recommend improvements based on insights.
- Collaborate with leadership teams in Singapore, Indonesia, Vietnam, and Malaysia on franchise-related commercial matters to ensure tight execution aligned with business growth objectives.
- Utilise data analytics tools to assess space optimisation and range performance; lead post-implementation reviews and continuous improvement initiatives benchmarked against industry best practices.
- Manage regional projects under the guidance of senior leadership—overseeing timelines, budgets, governance structures—and deliver high-quality reports for both internal stakeholders and external publication.
What you bring:
To excel as a Business Transformation Manager in this organisation’s fast-evolving environment, you will bring substantial experience leading complex transformation programmes within retail or similar sectors—particularly those involving ERP systems or digital innovation spanning multiple geographies. Your background should demonstrate not only technical proficiency but also an empathetic approach to stakeholder engagement: you understand how to connect people from different disciplines around shared goals. Your analytical mindset enables you to interpret large datasets effectively—identifying trends/opportunities that inform smarter decision-making at every stage of a project. You have honed your communication abilities so that you can represent nuanced commercial perspectives clearly in high-stakes meetings or written reports alike. Experience navigating regulatory landscapes across Southeast Asia—and balancing global standards with local realities—is especially valuable here. Above all else: your collaborative spirit ensures that everyone feels supported during times of change; your dependability means colleagues trust your judgement when it comes time for critical decisions; your enthusiasm inspires others even when challenges arise.
- Extensive experience managing large-scale transformation projects within retail or consumer-focused industries—ideally involving ERP implementations or digital technology rollouts across multiple markets.
- Proven track record in cross-functional collaboration with teams such as IT, finance, supply chain, marketing, operations, property management, legal affairs—and demonstrated ability to build consensus among diverse stakeholders.
- Strong understanding of core commercial processes including assortment planning, pricing strategies (including promotions), supplier funding models/trade terms negotiation—and how these integrate into enterprise systems.
- Advanced analytical skills utilising data analytics tools for performance measurement (e.g., sales uplift analysis), benchmarking against industry best practices/competitors—and translating findings into actionable recommendations.
- Experience conducting fit-gap analyses between global blueprints/standards versus local regulatory/commercial requirements—with an ability to articulate clear business rationales for standardisation or localisation decisions.
- Excellent communication skills enabling effective representation of commercial perspectives in strategic forums/workshops—and confident delivery of high-quality reports/presentations for both internal/external audiences.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple concurrent projects—balancing timelines/budgets/governance requirements—while maintaining attention to detail throughout project lifecycles.
- Familiarity with franchise operations/business development models within Southeast Asia is highly desirable—as is prior involvement in omnichannel retail environments focused on customer experience enhancement.
- Commitment to fostering a collaborative/team-oriented culture—supporting knowledge sharing/training initiatives that empower local teams during periods of change or process adoption.
- A degree in business administration/commerce/related field is required; additional qualifications in project management or data analytics would be advantageous.
