What you'll do:
As a Strategic Channel Sales Manager, you will be entrusted with steering the distribution network towards sustainable growth by building strong partnerships with key stakeholders across Indonesia. Your day-to-day responsibilities will involve close collaboration with internal teams such as marketing, field service engineers, application engineers, customer service, and pricing specialists. Your analytical approach will be essential in preparing detailed market analyses that inform pricing strategies and channel development decisions.
- Develop and execute strategic channel sales initiatives by expanding distributor networks, strengthening partnerships, and driving sustainable market share growth across Indonesia.
- Own the achievement of sales and profitability targets through effective business planning, market analysis, pricing strategies, and identification of new commercial opportunities.
- Collaborate closely with distributors, sales, and marketing teams to deliver product training, technical seminars, and customer engagement programs while supporting key end customers in securing business opportunities.
- Monitor and optimise distributor performance through regular business reviews, customer base analysis, and continuous channel development to ensure operational excellence and long-term business success
What you bring:
To excel as a Strategic Channel Sales Manager, your background should reflect significant exposure to industrial markets coupled with robust experience managing distribution networks or channel partnerships.
- A university degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent technical qualification is required to ensure deep understanding of industrial products.
- At least 10 years experience working within industrial sectors combined with a minimum of 5 years hands-on experience managing distribution or channel operations for industrial parts or components.
- Comprehensive knowledge of industry-specific sales processes including field sales operations, customer relationship management, operational procedures, and stakeholder engagement.
- Proficiency in SAP systems as well as advanced PC skills; fluency in English (oral and written) is essential while additional language skills are considered advantageous.
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex matters involving conflict resolution while maintaining positive interpersonal relationships across diverse cultures.
- Experience operating within matrix organisations where collaboration across multiple reporting lines is critical for success.
- Proven track record in developing strategies from conception through implementation including regular review processes to ensure alignment with organisational goals.
- Exceptional problem-solving abilities supported by root cause analysis skills; comfortable working unsupervised yet thriving within team environments.
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills complemented by strong presentation abilities; prior exposure to technical sales or technical sales support roles is preferred.
- Self-motivated mindset with an entrepreneurial spirit; adept at engaging customers from various backgrounds while demonstrating sensitivity towards cultural differences.
