What you'll do:
As Senior Manager Plastics and Primary Packaging, you will play an integral role in overseeing all procurement activities related to plastic-based materials such as caps, preforms, cap shields, returnable jugs, one-way big formats, resins, and olefins. Your day-to-day responsibilities will involve developing strategic sourcing plans that not only deliver cost efficiencies but also uphold the highest standards of quality assurance and supply security. You will act as the main point of contact between suppliers, global category teams, and sustainability stakeholders—ensuring seamless communication and execution of key initiatives. - Drive CO2 reduction efforts by executing DIJ Packaging Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) as part of broader sustainability commitments.
- Evaluate supplier performance annually, developing targeted action plans for continuous improvement based on data-driven insights.
- Leverage regional and global supplier relationships to unlock new business growth opportunities while supporting company-wide objectives.
- Lead productivity initiatives that support organisational goals by collaborating effectively with Research & Innovation (R&I) teams on new product development (NPD).
- Ensure strict adherence to all C&P Sourcing Policies and DANGO procedures during procurement activities, working closely with the Center of Excellence team to enhance processes.
- Provide clear direction, set objectives, and offer visible support to your team members while conducting regular performance reviews, calibrations, and career development conversations.

- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Finance, Food Technology or Packaging Technology is preferred for this position.
- A minimum of eight years’ professional experience including significant exposure to training or talent development within complex organisations.
- At least five years’ hands-on procurement experience with demonstrable success managing teams in fast-moving environments.
- Deep expertise in packaging category procurement at either local or regional levels is essential for success in this role.
- Comprehensive understanding of plastic resin markets (PET/rPET) as well as olefins (PE/PP), including pricing drivers and global supply dynamics.
- Proven track record in commercial negotiations using advanced cost modelling techniques to secure favourable outcomes for your organisation.
- Demonstrated ability to execute projects successfully within complex environments requiring extensive cross-functional collaboration.
- Strategic mindset combined with high learning agility; able to challenge existing processes constructively while remaining open to new ideas.
- Exceptional analytical skills enabling effective scenario planning and data-driven decision-making across multiple projects simultaneously.
