What you'll do:

As Procurement Lead, you will play a central role in shaping procurement strategies for direct materials, packaging, and commodities within a dynamic FMCG environment. Your day-to-day responsibilities will involve managing complex payment structures across multiple currencies, implementing hedging solutions for risk mitigation, overseeing import operations, and driving cost-saving initiatives through strategic supplier negotiations. You will guide a small but capable team of Assistant Managers while collaborating closely with both regional and local leaders to ensure alignment between procurement activities and overall business objectives. Success in this role requires not only technical expertise in commodity management but also strong interpersonal skills to foster co-operation among stakeholders. You will be expected to prepare compelling business case presentations for senior management review as part of ongoing project evaluations. By continuously monitoring supplier relationships and evaluating process improvements, you will contribute significantly to the organisation’s operational excellence.

• Oversee procurement activities for direct materials, packaging, and commodities ensuring optimal sourcing strategies are implemented across all categories.
• Manage payment processes involving different currencies, including hedging strategies and import operations to ensure compliance and efficiency.
• Develop and execute cost-saving initiatives by analysing market trends, supplier performance, and contract negotiations to maximise value for the organisation.
• Lead a team of two Assistant Managers by providing guidance, mentorship, and fostering a collaborative environment that supports their professional development.
• Work closely with regional and local stakeholders including the Head of Procurement Asia and General Manager Indonesia to align procurement objectives with broader business goals.
• Prepare business case presentations using PowerPoint for senior management review during interview stages and ongoing project evaluations.
• Monitor supplier relationships to ensure quality standards are met while maintaining ethical sourcing practices throughout the supply chain.
• Coordinate cross-functional teams to support new product launches or changes in packaging requirements by aligning procurement strategies accordingly.
• Ensure compliance with internal policies as well as external regulations related to commodity handling, imports, and currency transactions.
