What you'll do:
As Head of Workshop, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the operational backbone of this ambitious agribusiness project. Your day-to-day responsibilities will involve overseeing asset management for thousands of vehicles and equipment units while driving continuous improvement in systems and processes. You will collaborate with multiple internal stakeholders from engineering to supply chain to ensure that workshop services are seamlessly integrated into broader business operations. Success in this role requires nurturing your team through supportive leadership practices while championing safety standards across all activities. By strategically planning maintenance schedules and identifying areas for process enhancement, you will contribute directly to the organisation’s mission of achieving operational excellence. - Oversee the entire workshop function, managing approximately 2,000 assets including heavy equipment, vehicles, and machinery to ensure maximum uptime and efficiency.
- Lead a team of around seven direct reports including workshop managers, fostering a collaborative and supportive environment that encourages growth and knowledge sharing.
- Develop, implement, and continuously improve Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to drive operational excellence across all workshop activities.
- Work closely with internal clients such as Operations, Engineering, Maintenance, Supply Chain, Finance, and HSE departments to ensure seamless integration of workshop services.
- Strategically plan maintenance schedules and asset utilisation to optimise productivity while minimising downtime and costs.
- Champion safety standards by ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations throughout all workshop operations.
- Identify opportunities for system enhancements and process automation to streamline workflows and improve overall performance.
- Mentor and nurture team members through training opportunities that promote skill development and inter-personal collaboration.
- Monitor budgetary controls for workshop operations while maintaining high standards of service delivery.
- Report directly to senior leadership including the CEO on progress against targets, challenges faced, and recommendations for future improvements.

- Minimum 10–15 years’ proven experience in managing large-scale workshops within trucking, automotive, heavy equipment or agriculture sectors is highly desirable.
- Demonstrated expertise in asset management involving fleets or heavy machinery with strong understanding of maintenance scheduling.
- Exceptional skills in developing SOPs and KPIs tailored for complex workshop environments that require continuous improvement.
- Ability to foster collaborative relationships with cross-functional teams including operations, engineering, maintenance, supply chain, finance and HSE.
- Proven track record in implementing safety protocols aligned with health, safety and environmental regulations.
- Experience mentoring teams through training initiatives that promote inter-personal growth and skill development.
