A unique opportunity has arisen for an experienced Process Engineering Manager to join a global healthcare organisation renowned for its commitment to safety, sustainability, and operational excellence. Operating in over 170 countries, this company is dedicated to delivering innovative healthcare and consumer products while fostering a culture of continuous improvement and responsible stewardship. As the Process Engineering Manager based in Bogor, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of manufacturing operations across Indonesia and Southeast Asia. This position offers the chance to lead high-impact process engineering and sustainability initiatives, collaborate with regional experts, and drive meaningful change within a supportive and forward-thinking environment. With a strong focus on flexibility, professional growth, and cross-functional teamwork, this role is ideal for someone who thrives on making a tangible difference in both business performance and environmental outcomes.

  • Take ownership of process engineering leadership across multiple manufacturing sites in Indonesia, ensuring alignment with global standards and best practices while driving operational efficiency.
  • Collaborate closely with diverse teams including Operations, Safety, Capital Engineering, and Centres of Excellence to deliver sustainable solutions that support ambitious Net Zero Carbon and Zero Discharge goals.
  • Benefit from exposure to regional projects throughout Southeast Asia, opportunities for professional development, and the chance to influence large-scale transformation initiatives within a globally respected organisation.

What you'll do:

In the role of Process Engineering Manager, you will be entrusted with leading transformative projects that span process optimisation, safety enhancement, capital investment oversight, and sustainability advancement. Your day-to-day responsibilities will involve close partnership with multidisciplinary teams to ensure that every aspect of manufacturing meets or exceeds rigorous global standards. You will be instrumental in embedding best-in-class engineering practices into daily operations while championing initiatives that reduce environmental impact. By leveraging your expertise in chemical processing systems—including polymer production and reactor operations—you will provide invaluable guidance during troubleshooting sessions, scale-up activities, commissioning phases, and technology transfers. Your ability to maintain meticulous documentation will underpin safe operations while your collaborative approach will foster knowledge sharing across regional networks. Success in this position hinges on your capacity to balance technical rigour with practical problem-solving as you help shape a safer, more efficient future for manufacturing in Indonesia and beyond.

  • Lead the implementation of process engineering programmes and process safety initiatives across all Indonesian manufacturing sites by working collaboratively with cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Maintain comprehensive process engineering documentation such as Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs), Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), mass and energy balances, operating envelopes, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and control philosophies.
  • Utilise advanced process engineering tools to enhance yield, improve process stability, reduce losses, and increase overall operational efficiency through targeted continuous improvement projects.
  • Develop and enforce robust engineering standards designed to optimise productivity, streamline manufacturing processes, lower costs, and elevate product quality across all facilities.
  • Provide expert technical support for initiatives aimed at increasing manufacturing flexibility, localising production capabilities, and strengthening supply chain resilience.
  • Support all aspects of Process Safety Management (PSM) including Hazard and Operability Studies (HAZOP/PHAs), Management of Change (MOC), Root Cause Analysis (RCA), Pre-Startup Safety Reviews (PSSR), ensuring that design intent and safety controls are fully embedded into operations.
  • Safeguard the integrity of critical process safety documentation such as hazard registers, relief system design bases, consequence modelling reports, and safeguard verification records.
  • Oversee capital project execution to ensure compliance with regional CAPEX governance frameworks while supporting new facility launches, product transfers, and qualification activities.
  • Champion sustainability initiatives focused on reducing resource consumption—energy, water, solvents—and achieving Net Zero Carbon, Net Positive Water, and Zero Discharge targets through data-driven analysis.
  • Monitor key performance metrics using Plan-Do-Check-Act (PDCA) methodologies to proactively identify operational risks and drive ongoing improvements.

What you bring:

To excel as a Process Engineering Manager in this organisation’s dynamic environment, you will draw upon extensive hands-on experience gained from chemical or related manufacturing sectors. Your background should reflect not only technical proficiency but also a genuine passion for nurturing collaborative relationships across functions such as Operations, Safety Management, Capital Projects, and Supply Chain. You will have honed your skills managing both continuous and batch production systems—particularly those involving polymers or specialty chemicals—and possess familiarity with reactor-based processes including mixing reactors and temperature-controlled reactions. Your expertise extends into utilities integration (steam systems, chilled water) as well as instrumentation automation within chemical plants. Beyond technical acumen, your interpersonal strengths—such as empathy in stakeholder engagement—will enable you to foster trustful partnerships that drive shared success. A track record of supporting sustainability efforts further distinguishes you as someone committed not just to operational excellence but also long-term environmental stewardship.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a related scientific discipline is required for this position as it forms the foundation for understanding complex manufacturing processes.
  • At least seven years’ experience in process engineering or process safety engineering within chemical or related industries ensures you bring deep technical insight to the team.
  • A minimum of five years spent in supervisory or leadership roles demonstrates your ability to guide teams effectively through challenging projects.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of industrial engineering codes and standards is essential for maintaining compliance across all operations.
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD and other relevant engineering tools enables you to create accurate documentation that supports safe plant operation.
  • Strong understanding of Safety Health & Environment (SH&E) policies along with proven experience implementing engineering governance frameworks is vital for upholding workplace safety.
  • Exceptional analytical skills paired with acute attention to detail allow you to identify opportunities for improvement while minimising risk.
  • Excellent communication abilities combined with stakeholder management skills empower you to build consensus among diverse groups both locally and regionally.
  • Demonstrated cross-functional leadership experience highlights your capacity for influencing positive change within complex organisational structures.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within regional or global technical organisations ensures seamless integration of best practices across borders.
