Our client is seeking a high calibre legal professional to join their team as a VP Legal Counsel. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work within the asset management sector, providing legal advice and support across a range of areas including fund documentation, investment management agreements, and regulatory guidelines. What you'll do:

As a VP Legal Counsel, you will play a crucial role in reviewing fund-related documentation, advising on legal and regulatory issues, and drafting, reviewing, and negotiating investment management agreements. You will also be responsible for assisting with projects involving the company and/or global mutual fund platforms. Your role will extend to managing intercompany agreements between companies that involve the company. Furthermore, you will coordinate with legal as well as business counterparts of group companies in other regions to facilitate review and set up of global service agreements or roll out group initiatives.

• Review fund related documentation and provide legal advice on registration of funds throughout the region
• Advise on legal and regulatory issues in connection with mandates from institutional clients
• Draft, review and negotiate investment management agreements and investment advisory agreements
• Advise on legal issues in connection with the distribution and marketing of funds
• Assist with projects involving the company and/or global mutual fund platforms
• Assist in the maintenance of regulatory guidelines for sales and marketing conduct in Indonesia
• Manage and maintain intercompany agreements between companies that involve the company
• Coordinate with legal as well as business counterparts of group companies in other regions to facilitate review and set up of global service agreements or roll out group initiatives

What you bring:

The ideal candidate for this VP Legal Counsel position will bring a wealth of experience from their 6 - 8 years in a similar role. You will have excellent Bahasa and English language skills, both spoken and written. Your excellent legal drafting and negotiation skills will be put to good use in this role. You are known for your good interpersonal communication skills, maturity, independence, and proven ability to work on a cross-jurisdictional basis. You are a team player with a positive attitude, always willing to learn and achieve. Your commercially-focused mindset and problem-solving abilities will be key to your success in this role.

• A University degree in Law from a reputable university
• 6 - 8 years relevant experience
• Experience in Asset Management company is a must
• Excellent Bahasa and English (spoken and written)
• Excellent legal drafting and negotiation skills
• Good interpersonal communication skills
• Mature, independent and proven ability to work on a cross-jurisdictional basis
• Must be a team player
• Positive attitude with a willingness to learn and achieve
• Commercially-focused, and a problem solver
