A leading multinational organisation is seeking a Head of People to join their Jakarta office and play a pivotal role in shaping the future of their workforce across Indonesia and the wider Asia region. This opportunity offers you the chance to influence people strategy at scale while fostering trust and partnership with senior leadership. You will be empowered to drive business objectives through strategic HR leadership, championing organisational culture and supporting expansion into new markets. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in agile environments, values collaboration, and is passionate about nurturing teams for long-term success. Flexible working opportunities, generous training support, and exposure to international stakeholders make this an exceptional platform for your professional growth.

  • Join a globally recognised organisation with operations across Asia, offering you the chance to shape people strategy for both established and emerging markets.
  • Work closely with regional leaders and the local General Manager to rebuild trust, foster team cohesion, and drive business growth through HR initiatives.
  • Enjoy flexible working opportunities, ongoing training support, and the chance to collaborate with diverse teams across multiple countries.

What you'll do:

As Head of People, you will be responsible for steering strategic HR initiatives that underpin business growth across Indonesia. Your day-to-day will involve collaborating closely with regional leaders and the General Manager to ensure people strategies are tailored to local needs yet aligned with global standards. You will oversee HR operations at multiple sites, guiding your team through periods of expansion, while fostering a culture of trust, support, and inclusivity. Success in this role requires you to act as a bridge between diverse stakeholder groups, championing organisational change that enhances team cohesion and drives sustainable results. By empowering your HR colleagues through clear processes and nurturing their development, you will help create an environment where both business goals and employee wellbeing are prioritised.

  • Provide strategic HR leadership by developing and implementing people strategies that align with business objectives across Indonesia and the wider Asia region.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to the stakeholders, partnering closely to understand business needs and deliver effective HR solutions.
  • Lead HR activities across multiple sites in Indonesia
  • Empower and guide the HR team by establishing clear escalation processes, promoting autonomy, and ensuring a supportive environment without micromanagement.
  • Drive organisational change by shaping company culture, bridging gaps between local practices and global standards, and acting as a catalyst for positive transformation.
  • Influence senior stakeholders by building strong relationships, gaining buy-in from key decision-makers, and navigating evolving cultural expectations within the region.
  • Foster team cohesion by promoting collaborative practices within Indonesia’s unique workplace culture and encouraging inter-personal connections among staff.
  • Localise global HR practices to suit Indonesian market realities while maintaining alignment with international standards and compliance requirements.
  • Support business growth by prioritising pragmatic solutions that balance commercial objectives with employee wellbeing.
  • Champion diversity, inclusion, and flexible working opportunities throughout all HR initiatives.

What you bring:

The ideal Head of People brings proven expertise in strategic human resources management within multinational settings or professional services environments. Your interpersonal skills enable you to build trust quickly with senior leaders while supporting collaborative decision-making processes. You have successfully led change programmes that enhance organisational culture—bridging gaps between local customs and global best practices—while demonstrating sensitivity towards diverse stakeholder expectations. Your pragmatic approach ensures that both commercial imperatives and employee wellbeing are considered equally important. Experience adapting international HR policies for local implementation is essential; familiarity with Indonesian employment regulations adds further value. You thrive in fast-changing workplaces where flexibility is key, empowering your team through supportive leadership rather than micromanagement. International exposure or overseas education equips you with valuable perspectives on cross-border people management.

  • Demonstrated experience in strategic HR leadership within multinational or professional services organisations, ideally with exposure to international markets.
  • Strong business acumen combined with the ability to translate commercial objectives into effective people strategies that support long-term growth.
  • Proven track record of influencing senior stakeholders through collaborative relationship-building and empathetic communication skills.
  • Experience leading organisational change initiatives that shape company culture while bridging gaps between local practices and global standards.
  • Global mindset paired with deep understanding of Indonesian market dynamics; able to adapt international HR frameworks for local relevance.
  • Comfortable working in agile environments where flexibility, adaptability, and responsiveness are valued over rigid policy adherence.
  • Pragmatic approach to problem-solving that balances business priorities with employee needs in a considerate manner.
  • Ability to empower teams by establishing clear escalation processes, promoting autonomy without micromanagement, and nurturing talent development.
  • Overseas education or international exposure is viewed positively as it supports broader perspectives on people management.
