What you'll do:

As Country Human Resources Manager based in East Java, you will be entrusted with shaping the entire spectrum of HR functions for the organisation’s Indonesian operations. Your day-to-day responsibilities will involve close collaboration with senior leaders locally and regionally as you design strategies that attract top talent while nurturing existing teams through robust engagement initiatives. You will oversee all aspects of HR operations—from recruitment through onboarding to ongoing development—ensuring every process supports both business objectives and employee satisfaction. Your role will also include supporting international mobility projects by facilitating seamless transitions for expatriates as well as arranging overseas training experiences for local staff. By driving annual talent reviews aligned with company vision and business strategy, you will help identify high-potential individuals while ensuring their continued growth through tailored development plans. You will monitor employee performance metrics closely to foster a positive work environment where diversity is celebrated and industrial relations remain strong. Through regular reporting on key HR activities—and active participation in cross-functional projects—you will ensure that the organisation remains compliant with evolving regulations while continuously improving its people practices.

  • Collaborate with senior management at regional and local levels to develop and implement HR strategies that align with organisational objectives related to staffing, recruitment, retention, and talent management.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources to communicate policy updates effectively to upper management.
  • Implement group-wide HR initiatives by communicating policies, tools, and processes to managers and employees while participating in strategic planning and budgeting exercises.
  • Identify manpower planning needs and execute best practices for hiring and talent management across all departments.
  • Oversee the administration of human resource programmes including compensation, benefits, leave management, disciplinary matters, performance management, occupational health and safety, training, and development.
  • Support international mobility for expatriates by coordinating relocation services and facilitating overseas training for local talents as part of expansion projects.
  • Recruit, interview, hire, onboard new staff members while ensuring all vacancies are filled efficiently with suitable candidates according to budgetary requirements.
  • Drive annual talent review processes in collaboration with company vision and business strategy; maintain records related to talent reviews and ensure development plans are in place for potential talent.
  • Monitor employee performance and attendance; promote diversity and harmonious relationships among employees while maintaining good industrial relations with site unions.
  • Prepare monthly HR metrics reports on key activities; participate actively in HR initiatives/projects/meetings; coordinate communication efforts related to change management.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration or related field is required along with at least 10 years’ experience managing HR functions within multinational environments.
  • Extensive overall work experience exceeding 15 years in human resources roles; prior exposure to the food manufacturing industry would be highly advantageous.
  • Thorough understanding of employment-related laws/regulations as well as labour market trends/best practices relevant to Indonesia.
  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively within multicultural teams while supporting global/regional HR activities.
  • Demonstrated expertise in HR operations including talent acquisition/development coupled with proficiency using Microsoft Office Suite (Word/Excel/PowerPoint) and HRIS/talent management systems.
  • Exceptional verbal/written English communication skills combined with strong supervisory abilities focused on nurturing team competencies.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills encompassing negotiation/conflict resolution capabilities alongside meticulous organisational/time-management habits.
  • Ability to adapt quickly based on organisational needs whilst prioritising tasks appropriately or delegating when necessary.
