DIRECTOR OF PEOPLE AND CULTURE An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Director of People and Culture to join a leading hospitality organisation in Jakarta. This role is perfect for someone who is passionate about fostering an inclusive, supportive, and engaging workplace environment where every team member feels valued and empowered.


What you'll do:

The Director of People & Culture will lead the end-to-end people agenda for the hospitality group under a shared services model, ensuring consistent, scalable, and high-quality HR delivery across all properties and corporate functions. This role will oversee the full HR spectrum, from workforce planning, recruitment, onboarding, performance management, learning & development, employee relations, compensation & benefits, HR operations, compliance, culture, and organization effectiveness.

  • Develop and execute the People & Culture strategy aligned with the group’s business priorities, growth agenda, and service standards.
  • Partner closely with business leaders, General Managers, and functional heads to translate commercial priorities into people plans.
  • Build and lead a centralized HR shared services model supporting multiple business units efficiently and consistently.
  • Standardize HR policies, SOPs, service levels, reporting, and employee lifecycle processes across the group.
  • Ensure the shared services function is responsive, operationally strong, and able to support the pace and complexity of hotel operations.
  • Lead group-wide manpower planning and recruitment strategy for both volume hiring and critical leadership roles.
  • Design and drive a robust performance management framework that links business goals, service culture, and leadership accountability.

What you bring:

The ideal candidate for the Director of People and Culture position brings substantial experience managing human resources functions within complex organisations, ideally within hospitality or similarly people-focused industries. Your background demonstrates not only technical proficiency but also genuine care for nurturing positive relationships among colleagues. You possess deep understanding of how thoughtful HR strategies can transform workplace dynamics by promoting empathy, cooperation, and mutual respect.

  • Extensive experience in human resources management within large-scale organisations or hospitality environments is essential for success in this role.
  • Proven experience overseeing the full HR spectrum, including recruitment, HR operations, performance management, talent development, employee relations, compensation & benefits, and compliance.
  • Strong experience in a shared services, cluster, regional, or multi-property HR setup.
  • Experience supporting senior business leaders and managing HR across complex, fast-paced, customer-facing operations.
  • Prior exposure to international hospitality brands or structured service organisations is highly preferred.
