What you'll do:
As Head of Employee and Industrial Relations, you will play a critical leadership position in maintaining harmonious industrial relations, ensuring compliance with labor regulations, managing union engagement, and driving proactive employee relations strategies aligned with business continuity and operational excellence. Your day-to-day responsibilities will see you acting as the critical person between management, employees, unions, and external stakeholders ensuring that all voices are heard while upholding the highest standards of compliance. You will be responsible for developing proactive strategies that not only address current challenges but also anticipate future needs in an ever evolving regulatory landscape. By building strong relationships across all levels of the organisation, you will help create an atmosphere of trust where collaboration flourishes. Your expertise will be called upon to resolve sensitive issues with empathy and professionalism while driving initiatives that enhance employee well-being. - Develop and implement comprehensive employee and industrial relations strategies that align with organisational objectives and support long-term business success.
- Lead and manage the company’s overall industrial and employee relations strategy across manufacturing plants, distribution centers, and corporate offices.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for union representatives, facilitating open communication channels and negotiating collective bargaining agreements that reflect mutual respect and understanding.
- Monitor changes in local labour legislation and ensure all company practices remain fully compliant with regulatory requirements, proactively addressing potential risks.
- Lead and manage the company’s overall industrial and employee relations strategy across manufacturing plants, distribution centers, and corporate offices.\
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop policies that foster an inclusive workplace culture where every team member feels valued and supported.
What you bring:
To excel as Head of Employee and Industrial Relations, your background should demonstrate substantial experience navigating complex employment landscapes within large organisations, preferably those operating in fast-moving consumer goods or similar industries. Your deep understanding of Indonesian labour law will enable you to provide sound advice on compliance matters while your interpersonal strengths allow you to connect authentically with colleagues from all walks of life. You bring not only technical expertise but also emotional intelligence; your ability to listen empathetically ensures fair outcomes even during challenging negotiations. - Minimum 12–15 years of experience in Employee Relations and Industrial Relations within large-scale FMCG, manufacturing, consumer goods, or multinational environments.
- Strong exposure managing unions, collective labor agreements, and manufacturing workforce dynamics.
- Deep understanding of Indonesian manpower regulations and industrial relations practices.
- Proven experience handling complex ER/IR cases, negotiations, and workforce disputes.
- Strong business acumen with the ability to balance employee relations and commercial priorities.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience managing multi-site operations and large employee populations is highly preferred.
Fluent in Bahasa Indonesia and English
