What you'll do:
As Deputy Director of External Affairs, you will play an instrumental role in strengthening relationships between the organisation and its surrounding communities. Your day-to-day responsibilities will involve engaging directly with local stakeholders, developing impactful community initiatives, and ensuring that all communications reflect the organisation’s commitment to inclusivity and respect. You will guide your team through various projects designed to uplift the community while maintaining close coordination with senior leadership. - Oversee all aspects of external affairs at the Sulawesi site, ensuring effective communication and positive engagement with local communities and stakeholders.
- Develop and implement comprehensive community development programmes that align with organisational values and support sustainable growth.
- Act as the primary liaison between the organisation and local residents, government officials, and other key partners to build trust and mutual understanding.
- Lead, mentor, and support a diverse team of 15 staff members, promoting an atmosphere of cooperation, empathy, and shared purpose.
- Coordinate closely with the Legal Director to ensure compliance with relevant regulations while advancing stakeholder interests.
- Facilitate open dialogue sessions with community representatives to address concerns, share updates, and gather feedback for continuous improvement.
- Prepare detailed reports on stakeholder engagement activities for senior management review, highlighting successes and areas for further attention.
- Manage complex situations on site with sensitivity and professionalism, ensuring that all parties feel heard and respected throughout any negotiations or discussions.
