A leading insurance provider in Jakarta is seeking a Head of Health Insurance to lead its health business strategy, drive premium growth, and maximise profitability. You will oversee underwriting, product development, sales, and analytics, while leading a high-performing team. The role also involves driving digital transformation, ensuring regulatory compliance, and building strategic partnerships with brokers, corporate clients, and healthcare providers.

As Head of Health Insurance, you will lead the overall strategy, growth, and profitability of the health insurance business, driving commercial performance while delivering exceptional customer outcomes. Working cross-functionally with sales, underwriting, product, claims, operations, and external partners, you will shape business strategy, oversee P&L performance, strengthen distribution channels, enhance products and services, optimise operations, and ensure regulatory compliance. You will also champion digital transformation, build strategic healthcare partnerships, leverage data-driven insights, and develop high-performing teams to position the business for sustainable growth.

Key Responsibilities

• Own the health insurance P&L, driving profitable growth and achieving financial targets.
• Develop and execute business strategies to grow premiums, market share, profitability, and customer retention.
• Lead sales and distribution initiatives across channels, strengthening broker and corporate client relationships.
• Oversee health underwriting strategy, risk governance, reinsurance, and portfolio profitability.
• Drive product development, digital health initiatives, and market-leading customer solutions.
• Partner with claims and operations to improve service quality, operational efficiency, and claims performance.
• Monitor portfolio performance through analytics, recommending pricing and underwriting improvements.
• Build strategic partnerships with healthcare providers, TPAs, and digital health ecosystems.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, governance standards, and risk management policies.
• Lead, mentor, and develop high-performing teams while fostering collaboration and a culture of excellence.

What you bring:

• Bachelor's degree in Insurance, Finance, Actuarial Science, Business, Economics, Healthcare Management, or a related field; MBA or Master's degree preferred.
• 12–15 years' experience in the insurance industry, including at least 5 years in a senior health insurance leadership role.
• Proven P&L management experience with strong expertise in health underwriting and portfolio management.
• Extensive experience leading multi-channel distribution, including broker and corporate sales.
• Strong knowledge of health insurance products, employee benefits, IPMI, provider networks, TPAs, reinsurance, and claims management.
• Solid understanding of Indonesia's insurance regulations and governance requirements.
• Strong strategic, commercial, financial, and analytical capabilities with a data-driven approach.
• Proven ability to negotiate with brokers, healthcare providers, and key stakeholders while driving business growth.
• Excellent leadership, stakeholder management, change management, and people development skills, with a customer-centric and entrepreneurial mindset.
