As a Corporate Tax Senior Manager based in Jakarta, you will play a central role in leading the corporate tax function for one of Indonesia’s most respected financial institutions. Your day-to-day responsibilities will involve coordinating complex reporting processes between local teams and group offices to optimise the effective tax rate. You will ensure meticulous documentation of all tax balances in accordance with established policies while acting as the key point of contact during statutory audits. Your expertise will be crucial in managing monthly obligations as well as annual corporate reporting requirements—including transfer pricing and international standards—while providing insightful advisory services that support various business pillars. Building strong relationships with both internal stakeholders and external authorities will be essential as you navigate audits, disputes, and regulatory communications. By leveraging digital tools for governance initiatives and proactively assessing operational changes for potential exposures, you will help safeguard the organisation’s interests while contributing positively to its collaborative culture.
- Coordinate with Group Tax, Finance teams, and tax consultants to ensure accuracy and alignment in both Group and Local Reporting processes for effective tax rate optimisation.
- Ensure precise documentation of tax balances in the Balance Sheet and Profit & Loss statements according to BSR policy and ICFR procedures.
- Act as the primary liaison for tax matters during local statutory audits by collaborating with accounting teams and addressing audit findings promptly.
- Lead all aspects of monthly tax obligations, annual corporate tax reporting, transfer pricing, CbCR, BEPS, CRS, FET, and other regulatory requirements.
- Provide comprehensive tax advisory services and regulatory updates to internal teams supporting strategic pillars such as agency, bancassurance, vitality initiatives, customer retention efforts, and business partnerships.
- Manage relationships with tax consultants and internal stakeholders to oversee tax audits and dispute resolution processes while maintaining strong connections with tax authorities.
- Engage regularly with internal users during group submissions and projects requiring confirmation or issue discussion; collaborate with Group Office on submission tasks.
- Communicate externally with tax officials, regulators, independent auditors, external advisors, and business associations to ensure compliance and resolve issues efficiently.
- Assess business or operational changes for potential tax exposures and provide actionable advice to mitigate risks.
- Utilise digital tools and analytics alongside MS Office proficiency to support governance initiatives and enhance control measures.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Tax is required; advanced qualifications such as Brevet or CPA are highly regarded.
- Minimum 7-10 years’ experience in accounting and taxation roles within large organisations; experience in life insurance industry preferred.
- Demonstrated expertise in local tax regulations (including PSAK104/117) as well as familiarity with IFRS requirements (especially IFRS 17).
- Proven track record of engaging effectively with regulators, auditors (internal/external), senior stakeholders including C-level executives.
- Strong understanding of accounting standards and their impact on financial statements; ability to translate technical issues into actionable business insights.
- Ability to assess business or operational changes for potential tax exposures; provide clear advice on mitigation strategies.
- Exceptional communication skills combined with stakeholder management abilities; adept at cross-functional collaboration within diverse teams.
- Strategic thinking supported by a data-driven mindset; comfortable using digital tools and analytics for governance purposes.
- Proficiency in MS Office suite; willingness to embrace new technologies that enhance control measures.
