Senior Accountant (Mining)

A leading trading organisation in Jakarta is seeking a Senior Accountant to join their team. What you'll do:

• Prepare, review, and analyse monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements to ensure accuracy and compliance with local regulations.
• Coordinate with internal teams to gather financial data, reconcile accounts, and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
• Monitor daily accounting operations including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger entries, and bank reconciliations.
• Support external audits by preparing documentation, responding to auditor queries, and implementing recommendations for process improvements.
• Develop and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure adherence to financial policies.
• Assist in budgeting processes by compiling relevant data, forecasting expenses, and tracking variances against actual performance.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to junior accounting staff, fostering a collaborative learning environment within the finance department.
• Liaise with tax authorities and consultants to ensure accurate tax filings and compliance with statutory requirements.
• Prepare detailed reports for management on financial performance, cash flow projections, and key business metrics.
• Contribute to process improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing efficiency, accuracy, and transparency across all accounting functions.

What you bring:

• Demonstrated experience in preparing complex financial statements in accordance with local accounting standards.
• Proven ability to coordinate effectively with cross-functional teams for data collection and reconciliation purposes.
• Strong knowledge of daily accounting operations including accounts payable/receivable management and general ledger maintenance.
• Experience supporting external audits through meticulous documentation preparation and responsive communication with auditors.
• Expertise in developing internal controls that promote compliance and protect organisational assets.
• Solid understanding of budgeting processes including expense forecasting and variance analysis.
• Ability to mentor junior staff members by sharing knowledge in a considerate manner that encourages growth.
• Familiarity with tax regulations relevant to Indonesia as well as experience managing accurate tax filings.
• Advanced proficiency in preparing management reports that provide actionable insights into financial performance.
• Track record of contributing positively to process improvement initiatives within an accounting function.
