What you'll do:

As a Financial Planning and Analysis Specialist, you will immerse yourself in the day-to-day operations of a dynamic finance team, playing an integral role in driving the unit’s success through meticulous analysis and collaborative problem-solving. Your responsibilities will span from preparing insightful financial reports that guide strategic decisions to monitoring trade spending efficiency in partnership with marketing colleagues. You will be instrumental in reviewing pricing structures, supporting new product launches, evaluating promotional activities, and ensuring accurate period-end reporting. By engaging with cross-functional teams throughout the organisation, you will help shape both short- and long-term financial strategies while actively participating in key business processes. Your ability to interpret complex data sets, present clear recommendations, and foster strong internal relationships will be crucial to thriving in this position.

  • Prepare detailed financial reports and insightful analysis aligned with rolling forecasts, identifying risks and opportunities while constructively challenging the business to enhance performance.
  • Monitor trade spending meticulously to ensure efficiency, collaborating with trade marketing teams to optimise sales revenue management strategies.
  • Compile period-end book closing reports and deliver comprehensive variance analyses to inform management decisions.
  • Review pricing structures regularly and assess SKU profitability to support sustainable growth across product lines.
  • Provide robust financial analysis for various business projects such as promotion return on investment evaluations, channel profitability assessments, and ad hoc initiatives as required by stakeholders.
  • Track and review balance sheet reconciliations for relevant accounts including trade spending, consumer promotions, and display equipment investments.
  • Support the unit’s financial shaping and forecasting processes by identifying potential issues early on and presenting actionable plans for corrective measures when necessary.
  • Prepare a range of deliverables to meet financial reporting needs, including analytic commentary and supplementary analysis tailored for management teams and other stakeholders.
  • Liaise effectively with all functions across the organisation to ensure seamless information flow and co-pilot key decisions within established financial frameworks.
  • Actively participate in essential organisational processes such as Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) meetings and regular business reviews.

  • Demonstrated experience working collaboratively with commercial teams to provide actionable insights that drive revenue growth and operational efficiency.
  • Exceptional analytical skills with advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel for modelling scenarios, managing large data sets, and producing clear visualisations of complex information.
  • A deep understanding of profit-and-loss statements coupled with strong business acumen that enables you to identify trends, risks, and opportunities quickly.
  • Proven ability to build mutual relationships with internal partners across different functions by communicating clearly and empathetically at all levels of the organisation.
  • Curiosity paired with flexibility; you are open-minded about learning new systems or approaches while remaining resilient under pressure or tight deadlines.
  • Highly organised approach to managing multiple priorities simultaneously without compromising attention to detail or accuracy in deliverables.
