This role is perfect for someone who thrives on collaboration, values a supportive and safety-focused environment, and is eager to make a meaningful impact by connecting financial insights with business strategy.

What you'll do:

As the Commercial Finance Lead, you will immerse yourself in a role that bridges finance with broader business objectives. Your day-to-day activities will involve integrating best-in-class safety practices into all aspects of commercial finance operations while championing initiatives that foster a healthy workplace. You will gather vital market intelligence to keep the organisation ahead of industry trends and regulatory developments. By analysing sales data, costs, and margins, you will uncover actionable insights that inform strategic decisions. Collaboration is central to this position; you will work hand-in-hand with sales, supply chain, and finance teams to support contract negotiations and shape business strategies. Your ability to communicate complex financial concepts clearly will ensure stakeholders are well-informed and empowered to act. Success in this role comes from your dedication to teamwork, your attention to detail in financial analysis, and your commitment to upholding the highest standards of safety throughout all operations.

  • Integrate comprehensive safety protocols such as critical element Code of Practice, personal protective equipment compliance, and hazard identification into all financial activities to promote a robust culture of safety throughout the organisation.
  • Champion safety awareness initiatives in partnership with Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) colleagues to help build and maintain a healthy and safe workplace for everyone involved.
  • Monitor competitor performance closely by gathering market intelligence on industry trends and regulatory changes to ensure the business remains agile and informed.
  • Analyse sales figures, costs, and profit margins in detail to identify areas for improvement that can enhance overall commercial performance.
  • Collaborate effectively with sales teams to provide financial insights that support contract negotiations and strategic decision-making processes.
  • Work alongside supply chain professionals to align financial planning with operational needs, ensuring seamless integration between departments.
  • Partner with finance colleagues to develop robust business strategies that are grounded in accurate data analysis and market understanding.
  • Prepare clear reports and presentations that communicate complex financial information in an accessible way to stakeholders at all levels of the organisation.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives by identifying process enhancements within commercial finance operations.
  • Contribute positively to team discussions by sharing knowledge, supporting colleagues, and fostering an environment of mutual respect.

What you bring:

The ideal candidate for the Commercial Finance Lead position brings not only technical expertise but also genuine enthusiasm for working collaboratively within a manufacturing setting. Your background includes formal qualifications in finance or accounting coupled with hands-on experience navigating the unique demands of industrial environments. You have demonstrated an ability to analyse data rigorously while maintaining sensitivity towards the needs of both internal partners and external stakeholders. Your communication style is clear yet considerate—ensuring everyone feels included in discussions about financial performance or strategic direction. Above all else, your commitment to promoting health and safety underpins everything you do; you recognise that true commercial success depends on creating an environment where people feel supported both professionally and personally.

  • A degree in Finance or Accounting provides you with the foundational knowledge required for this role within the manufacturing sector.
  • At least three years of relevant experience working in a manufacturing environment ensures you understand industry-specific challenges and opportunities.
  • Your analytical skills enable you to interpret complex data sets accurately and translate them into practical recommendations for business improvement.
  • Proficiency in English allows you to communicate effectively across diverse teams within an international context.

  • Your collaborative approach means you work well with others across different functions such as sales, supply chain, and finance.
  • A strong sense of responsibility towards health and safety ensures you contribute positively to creating a secure workplace for all employees.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills allow you to build trust-based relationships with colleagues at every level of the organisation.
