Accounting Manager

Save job

A leading global brand in the food and beverage sector is seeking an Accounting Manager to join their Jakarta office. This role offers you the opportunity to work within a supportive team environment, where your expertise in accounting and finance will be valued and nurtured. You will play a pivotal part in ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance with statutory requirements, and driving process improvements.

What you'll do:

As an Accounting Manager based in Jakarta, you will be responsible for overseeing comprehensive financial operations that underpin the business’s success. Your day-to-day activities will involve managing the closure of books of accounts with precision, ensuring all assets are accurately accounted for while preparing key financial statements. You will coordinate timely financial reporting for both internal teams and external authorities, maintaining strict adherence to statutory requirements. Month-end closings will see you reconciling ledgers, reviewing schedules for balance sheets and P&Ls, and applying your expertise in inventory management. Your deep understanding of IFRS 16 lease accounting standards will be crucial in keeping the company compliant with evolving regulations. Taxation responsibilities include handling direct and indirect tax filings as well as supporting audits efficiently. You’ll also prepare transfer pricing documentation to meet local and international standards. In addition to these core duties, you’ll play an active role in supporting ERP implementations—driving process improvements that streamline workflows. Success in this role requires meticulous attention to detail, collaborative teamwork skills, responsiveness to deadlines, and a commitment to continuous improvement.

  • Ensure timely closure of books of accounts by overseeing accounting processes related to fixed assets, current assets, accruals, as well as preparing profit and loss statements, balance sheets, cash flow statements, and consolidating accounts.
  • Manage on-time financial reporting requirements for both internal and external stakeholders while ensuring statutory compliance and filings such as KPPK and ULN.
  • Perform month-end closing activities including inventory management, actuarial calculations, depreciation entries, provisions reconciliation of ledgers, and preparation or review of monthly schedules for balance sheet and profit & loss statements.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of IFRS 16 lease accounting standards as well as other relevant IFRS and PSAK regulations to ensure compliance across all financial operations.
  • Handle taxation matters including direct and indirect tax filings, compliance procedures, tax audits, queries during CITR or refund applications with accuracy and efficiency.
  • Prepare transfer pricing documentation for both local and master reports while ensuring all regulatory requirements are met.
  • Support internal and external audits (including TBK/listing entity audits) by providing timely and efficient assistance throughout the audit process.
  • Contribute to ERP implementation projects by supporting process improvements and automations aimed at reducing manual tasks within the finance function.

What you bring:

The ideal candidate for the Accounting Manager position will bring extensive experience gained from both corporate environments and top-tier auditing firms. Your academic background demonstrates commitment to excellence through high achievement at reputable institutions. You have developed robust technical skills in accounting practices—particularly those relevant to retail or consumer-focused industries—and possess advanced knowledge of international financial reporting standards. Your proficiency with SAP software enables you to manage complex data sets efficiently while supporting automation initiatives that improve operational effectiveness. You are adept at navigating tax-related challenges including reconciliations and audit support functions. Beyond technical abilities, your interpersonal skills foster collaboration within teams; you communicate clearly across departments ensuring everyone feels included in achieving shared goals. Your approach is marked by dependability—meeting deadlines without compromising quality—and your positive outlook helps nurture an encouraging atmosphere where colleagues feel supported.

  • Hold a Chartered Accountant qualification along with a Bachelor Degree in Accounting from a reputable university with a GPA above 3.5.
  • Bring at least ten years of experience in accounting roles or four to five years’ experience within a Big Four auditing firm; prior exposure to retail, food & beverage, quick service restaurant (QSR), online or consumer goods businesses is highly desirable.
  • Demonstrate proven ability in handling tax accounting reconciliations such as fiscal corrections with thoroughness and accuracy.
  • Possess strong knowledge of IFRS standards (especially IFRS 16) as well as PSAK regulations; experience using SAP software is essential.
  • Show capacity to work effectively under pressure while meeting tight timelines for group consolidation submissions; ensure compliance with local regulations at all times.
  • Display responsibility through ownership of tasks combined with a positive attitude that contributes to an energetic yet considerate workplace culture.
  • Exhibit excellent communication skills; understanding English well is required while speaking English fluently would be beneficial.
