Head of Finance

We are looking to hire a Head of Finance for our client active in the logistics industry. This is a senior finance role within a logistics business, combining commercial finance, FP&A and financial operations. You will work closely with the Finance Director and business leaders to understand performance, manage cash and support commercial decisions

As Head of Finance you will lead a finance team of approximately 20 people across Treasury, Insurance, Accounts Payable and Billing.

The role has a strong FP&A and commercial finance focus, covering forecasting, cash allocation, financial analysis and business planning alongside the day-to-day finance operation.

You will be expected to understand the numbers, challenge the business and turn financial data into decisions.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a finance team of approximately 20 people
• Own cash-flow monitoring, cash allocation and liquidity planning
• Lead budgeting, forecasting and FP&A activities
• Analyse financial and operational performance and identify key business drivers

• Oversee Treasury, Insurance, AP and Billing operations
• Strengthen financial controls and identify potential fraud and financial risks
• Work directly with the Finance director on business performance and strategic finance matters
• Travel quarterly to support the wider business

What We’re Looking For

• Experience in logistics, transportation or a related industry is preferred
• Strong understanding of cash flow, forecasting and financial analysis
• Big 4 experience is a must
• Commercial mindset with the ability to connect financial performance to business decisions
• Comfortable managing a sizeable finance team and working directly with senior leadership
• Strong analytical skills and attention to financial detail
