Costing Senior Manager
A leading organisation in South Jakarta is seeking a Costing Senior Manager who will play a pivotal role in shaping the financial health and operational efficiency of their business. What you'll do:
As a Costing Senior Manager, you will be entrusted with overseeing all aspects of cost analysis across pricing strategies, promotions, new initiatives, budgeting cycles, logistics operations, COGS management, variance analysis, supply chain evaluation, shrinkage reduction efforts, month-end closing activities, audit support functions, process improvement projects, cross-departmental partnerships for cost optimisation initiatives as well as team leadership responsibilities. Your day-to-day work will involve collaborating closely with Operations, Supply Chain Management, Commercial Teams as well as Product & Engineering stakeholders. You will also be responsible for delivering actionable insights that inform senior management decisions while driving system enhancements that improve automation levels within inventory costing processes. Success in this role requires meticulous attention to detail when reconciling variances or preparing supporting documents; strong communication skills when partnering with colleagues; technical proficiency when managing ERP integrations; plus a passion for developing others within your team. - Provide comprehensive cost impact analysis for pricing strategies, promotional activities, and new business initiatives to ensure informed decision-making.
- Support budgeting and forecasting processes for inventory management, logistics operations, and cost of goods sold (COGS) to maintain financial accuracy.
- Monitor key performance indicators such as inventory accuracy percentage, shrinkage rate, cost per order or logistics cost, inventory turnover, and aging to drive operational excellence.
- Ensure the precise recording of COGS within the system by maintaining rigorous controls and reconciliation procedures.
- Analyse variances between standard costs and actual purchasing costs, identifying root causes for discrepancies and recommending corrective actions.
- Evaluate supply chain logistics costs including mid-mile and last-mile delivery expenses as well as other related expenditures to optimise overall efficiency.
- Assess shrinkage and obsolescence inventory data with the aim of minimising unnecessary costs through targeted interventions.
- Oversee month-end closing activities related to inventory, COGS, and associated costs while preparing supporting documentation for management review.
- Ensure all inventory activities are accurately recorded in accordance with PSAK standards and aligned with internal company policies.
- Support both internal and external audit processes including stock opname procedures to uphold compliance standards.
- Lead the development and continuous improvement of costing processes and workflows for enhanced operational effectiveness.
- Partner closely with Operations, Supply Chain, and Commercial teams to identify opportunities for cost optimisation initiatives across departments.
- Guide and develop the inventory costing team by conducting performance evaluations and fostering capability development among team members.
- Deliver actionable insights and recommendations to senior management based on thorough cost and inventory analysis findings.
- Drive system improvements and automation projects related to inventory costing and reporting for increased efficiency.
- Safeguard data integrity by ensuring synchronisation between Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and ERP platforms such as NetSuite.
- Collaborate with Product and Engineering teams to resolve system gaps while enhancing integration capabilities across platforms.
- Lead efforts to strengthen inventory data governance frameworks and control mechanisms throughout the organisation.
What you bring:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting is required as foundational preparation for this role.
- 5-8 years of experience in cost control roles within retail, FMCG or e-commerce sectors provides essential industry context.
- Comprehensive understanding of PSAK ensures compliance with local accounting standards at all times.
- Advanced analytical abilities combined with keen attention to detail enable you to prepare accurate inventory reports and conduct meaningful cost analyses.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel alongside hands-on experience using accounting ERP systems such as NetSuite supports efficient workflow execution.
- Demonstrated capacity for cross-functional collaboration allows you to work effectively within diverse teams under varying conditions.
- Experience leading or mentoring teams helps maintain high standards of inventory accuracy while fostering professional growth among colleagues.
- Familiarity with high-volume SKU environments or multi-warehouse operations is considered advantageous but not mandatory.
