Account Payable Senior Manager
We are looking for a strong Senior Manager – Accounts Payable to lead the AP function. Beyond ensuring invoices are processed and paid accurately and on time, the role is expected to provide strong accounting judgment, tax and control oversight, cost analysis, and commercial challenge across the Procure-to-Pay (P2P) cycle.
Lead & Control Accounts Payable
- Lead end-to-end AP across Burger King and Popeyes Indonesia, including invoice validation, PO/GR matching, posting, payments, vendor management, employee claims and exception resolution.
- Lead, coach and develop the AP team, building stronger accounting knowledge, analytical capability and ownership.
- Ensure effective 2-way/3-way matching and investigate price, quantity, tax, PO and goods-receipt discrepancies.
- Own AP performance through clear KPIs covering cycle time, accuracy, aging, exceptions, blocked invoices, payment performance and vendor issues.
Accounting, Tax & Financial Controls
- Review significant, unusual and judgmental transactions to ensure the appropriate accounting treatment, GL/cost-center allocation, period recognition, accrual/prepayment treatment and supporting documentation.
- Ensure transactions comply with Indonesian tax requirements relevant to AP, including PPN and applicable PPh withholding taxes, with appropriate tax documentation.
- Ensure payments comply with the Company's Authority Matrix, procurement policies and segregation-of-duties requirements.
- Maintain strong controls over vendor master data and bank-account changes.
- Proactively identify duplicate invoices/payments, approval bypasses, unusual transactions and other potential control weaknesses.
- Maintain strong audit readiness and support internal, external and tax audits.
Cost Control & Analytics
- Develop AP as an important cost-control function, not simply a payment-processing team.
- Analyze AP and purchasing data to identify purchase-price variances, duplicate costs, unusual spending, supplier overcharges, quantity/consumption anomalies and recurring PO/GR/invoice variances.
- Challenge transactions that appear commercially unusual or inconsistent with contracts, historical trends or approved terms.
- Partner with Procurement, Operations and Finance to convert findings into cost savings, recoveries and stronger controls.
AI, Automation & Transformation
- Champion the practical use of AI, data analytics and automation across AP.
- Use AI and analytical tools to identify transaction anomalies, duplicate payments, spending patterns, control exceptions and root causes across large transaction volumes.
- Develop dashboards and exception-based reporting that shift AP from manual checking toward data-driven, risk-based review.
- Drive improvements in ERP, OCR, invoice workflow and straight-through processing while maintaining appropriate financial controls.
- Continuously reduce manual effort, recurring exceptions and unnecessary process complexity.
Cash Flow, Working Capital & Closing
- Oversee payment runs and ensure payments are accurate, appropriately approved and aligned with supplier terms.
- Manage AP aging and partner with Treasury/Finance on cash-outflow forecasting and payment prioritization.
- Identify opportunities to improve payment terms and working capital and minimize unnecessary early/late payments.
- Monitor foreign-currency invoices and flag material FX or pricing variances, particularly for imported products.
- Lead AP month-end activities including AP/GL reconciliation, GR/IR, accrual support, vendor balances and aged-item resolution.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related discipline; professional accounting qualification is an advantage.
- 15+ years of progressive Finance/AP/P2P experience, including significant team leadership responsibility, KAP/ Audit experience will be a plus.
- Strong accounting knowledge and ability to assess the financial substance and accounting treatment of transactions—not just process invoices.
- Strong understanding of AP/P2P controls, reconciliations, accruals and Indonesian tax requirements relevant to vendor transactions.
- Experience in a high-volume environment such as QSR, retail, FMCG, hospitality, manufacturing or distribution strongly preferred.
- Strong ERP experience; SAP or comparable enterprise ERP preferred.
- Advanced Excel/data-analysis capability with demonstrated interest or experience in AI-enabled finance analytics and automation.
- Experience with OCR, invoice automation, workflow tools and Finance
Due to the high volume of applications we are experiencing, our team will only be in touch with you if your application is shortlisted.
