A rapidly expanding financial technology company is seeking a talented Product Design Lead. In this job, you will lead and coach the design team and be responsible for all business units design decision, design strategy, and design related research.

About the Product Design Lead Role:
In this product critical role, you will provide the creative vision for the company and define processes and practices to achieve company vision. You will also be accountable for the overall user experience of all our products and ensuring the delivery of quality products to users.

Key Responsibilities:

• Establish a team that excels and is diverse, dedicated to promptly delivering exceptional user experiences. This involves recruiting high-calibre talent and nurturing the development of current team members
• Nurture an inclusive, constructive, and collaborative culture within the team
• Guide and steer the UX strategy for the core platform
• Coach the team to adopt a user-centred approach in tackling design challenges and supporting business needs
• Foster a culture of regular and timely feedback
• Attract, cultivate, and retain high-calibre talent
• Influence and communicate the vision effectively to a wide range of key stakeholders
• Forge strong partnerships across various disciplines, encompassing design, product, engineering, and marketing
• Tackle intricate UX design challenges across different channels
• Work closely with product managers to pinpoint opportunities for new products/features and validating assumptions through user testing and research
• Collaborate with engineering to bring forth the final product
• Cement a design-thinking culture that capitalises on the best in product, technology, and innovative talent
• Assume responsibility for various application interfaces
• Work alongside developers and QA to guarantee the delivery of a polished final product
• Champion design system guidelines and patterns

To succeed in the role, you will need to be passionate about product design (UI and UX), and follow the trends of user-centric design. You also need to be a strong stakeholder manager and have the ability to work effectively and co-operatively with junior and senior teams, across departments.

Key Requirements:

• Overseen the entire life cycle of a product, from conceptualisation to release
• 7 - 10 years of experience in designing and delivering products within cross-functional teams, managing the process from inception to completion
• Demonstrated three or more years of managerial experience
• Exhibits a strong passion for overseeing and mentoring designers
• A profound understanding of user-centred design methods and best practices, with a continuous commitment to refining processes
• Adept at thriving in a dynamic, collaborative, and agile environment, with a track record of leading process improvement initiatives
• Demonstrated ability to influence and build consensus, even in ambiguous situations
• Self-motivated, effective communicator, and skilled at balancing exceptional design with meeting tight deadlines
• Utilise analytics, user research, and various approaches to inform decisions and iterate on the product
• Maintains a constant drive to stay abreast of the latest industry news and developments
• A deep appreciation for and talent in providing simple solutions to complex problems
• A foundational understanding of accessibility
