• Bridge communication and technical gaps between Core Infrastructure, Security, Quality Assurance, and Development Teams to ensure smooth project delivery.
• Take ownership of end-to-end availability and performance for critical applications and their supporting infrastructure, proactively identifying areas for improvement.
• Provide comprehensive 24/7 support for both infrastructure and applications, responding promptly to incidents and minimising downtime for users.
• Automate development workflows and release processes to enhance efficiency, reliability, and repeatability across the software lifecycle.
• Design, implement, manage, and maintain scalable infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles to ensure consistency and traceability.
• Lead onboarding efforts for new applications by conducting thorough production readiness reviews in collaboration with stakeholders.
• Work closely with developers to gain deep insights into application architecture, identifying potential bottlenecks or vulnerabilities before they impact operations.
• Identify gaps in observability within both applications and infrastructure; work with relevant teams to address these using appropriate monitoring tools.
• Manage outages effectively by coordinating response efforts, performing detailed root cause analysis (RCA), and collaborating on long-term solutions to prevent recurrence.
• Continuously seek opportunities to automate repetitive tasks (toil), freeing up time for higher-value engineering work.
