Our client is seeking a Business Development Manager to spearhead their growth strategy in Indonesia. What you'll do:

As a Business Development Manager, you will be at the forefront of our client's expansion efforts in Indonesia. Your role will involve developing a deep understanding of unmet needs in various sub-regions and sub-segments of the Indonesian market to drive innovation projects. You will be responsible for formulating marketing strategies to grow existing business while identifying new transformative business opportunities. Your leadership skills will be crucial as you guide sales, marketing, and technical teams to execute key growth initiatives.

  • Develop and implement growth strategy for target markets in Indonesia
  • Analyze markets and market trends, making recommendations concerning segment and product strategy
  • Identify and develop target sub-markets through value and opportunity analysis
  • Conduct customer interviews across the value chain, translating identified trends into high-value opportunities
  • Manage product portfolio, positioning, and value delivery
  • Understand manufacturing capability and develop business case for target markets
  • Identify new product/application development needs, manage the innovation pipeline in Indonesia
  • Lead high impact business development growth projects

What you bring:

The ideal candidate for this Business Development Manager role brings a wealth of experience in business development or marketing. You should have a solid background in the chemical or specialty chemical industry with global exposure. Your ability to work effectively within a matrix organization will be essential for success in this role. We are looking for someone with excellent communication skills who can demonstrate strong leadership abilities. An MBA with a marketing focus would be considered a plus.

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, chemistry, or engineering
  • Minimum 10 years of business development and/or marketing experience
  • Experience in the chemical/specialty chemical industry with global exposure is highly preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a matrix organization and business team environment
  • Commercial development acumen including value chain analysis, customer needs analysis, value proposition
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills
