An exciting Head of Sales (Biotechnology) job has become available at a leading medical device distributor company.

About the Head of Sales (Biotechnology) Role:
As the Head of Sales (Biotechnology), you will be developing a profitable and sustainable medical devices business sector nation-wide.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the developing of a comprehensive strategic plan to establish a robust in the pipeline of revenue
  • Identify key growth initiatives and help driving the initiatives based on target medical devices market sectors and services to expand the business
  • Assist to define and execute the roadmap to convert strategy into action with key milestones, timelines, and owners to drive business expansion
  • Develop a marketing strategy in different market segmentation analysis annually that considers the competition, technology, market segments, pricing/margins, growth rates, SWOT analysis, geographies, and client profiles
  • Support the development of an company’s internal, best practices-based on standards to drive and ensure value added services by the team members
  • Expand the service offering beyond current product offerings and seeks opportunities to broaden
  • Support the development of the systems, process, and procedures to effectively deliver the service. Proactively identify opportunities to improve efficiencies
  • Collaborate daily with the other business sectors and functional area directors to ensure effective management of resources: client base, technical resources, and reputation in the marketplace to aggressively grow the business
  • Partner with the sales and marketing teams to define and implement go-to-market strategies, and to develop a robust project pipeline across multiple market segments. Provide technical advice to sales, marketing, operations, and management as required
  • Establish a winning culture that embraces change, risk taking, and innovative thinking
  • Maintain and develop knowledge and understanding of company’s services, standards, regulatory requirements, and client expectations

To succeed in this Head of Sales (Biotechnology), you must be career-driven, have deep contacts and experience in the medical devices industry.

Key Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree from a reputable university; MBA is strongly preferred
  • At least 10 years' sales/marketing/business development/partnership experience in the medical devices/pharmaceutical industry
  • Experience working with distributors
  • Exceptional leadership/management skills and superb verbal and written communication, with seasoned presentation skills
  • Track record of success in growing a national sales team for an emerging product
  • Extensive experience working with large amounts of information with the ability to synthesise trends and insights and deliver summaries to company decision makers
  • Ability to work decisively with a broad range of competing projects and priorities, managing complex, highly analytical projects while at the same time managing the tactical execution of business development plans
  • Excellent communications skills with a track record of working with all levels of a business organisation
  • Current understanding of industry trends and ability to drive positive change in the medical device, physical technology fields
  • Ability to develop long-term client relationships at all levels of client organisations including C-Suite
