Head of Business Unit (3PL Trucking)

A leading 3PL logistics provider is looking for a Head of Business Unit (3PL Trucking) to manage its nationwide transport operations and commercial development. The ideal candidate will bring both strategic and hands-on leadership, ensuring operational excellence while expanding transport business opportunities across key industries such as FMCG, manufacturing, and retail.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the transport division, overseeing daily operations, routing, fleet management, and vendor coordination.

• Manage a team of 4 transport managers and ensure high standards of performance, safety, and service delivery.

• Develop and implement commercial strategies to attract new clients and expand existing transport partnerships.

• Ensure cost control, asset utilization, and operational efficiency through continuous process improvements.

• Collaborate with warehouse and supply chain teams to deliver end-to-end integrated logistics solutions.

• Manage key client relationships, negotiate service contracts, and ensure SLA compliance.

• Monitor transport performance metrics and deliver reports to senior management.

• Lead fleet expansion, vendor management, and subcontractor performance improvement.

• Ensure compliance with transport regulations, HSE, and company standards.

Key Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Business Administration, or related field (MBA preferred).

• At least 8–10 years of experience in transport or fleet management, with 3+ years in a leadership role.

• Proven ability to manage both commercial and operational aspects of transport business.

• Strong leadership and team development skills with experience leading multi-location operations.

• Strategic mindset with strong client relationship and negotiation capabilities.

• Excellent analytical and communication skills; results-driven and collaborative.
