About the Surabaya Branch Manager (Shipping/Freight) Role:
As the Surabaya Branch Manager (Shipping/Freight), you will report to the Country Manager and be responsible for assisting the ongoing development of the Eastern Indonesia market for the company's total logistics business.

Key Responsibilities:

• Create and execute clear business plans with group product management
• Use personal connections and market insights to promote the company's services locally
• Build relationships with local vendors, port authorities, suppliers, and logistics firms
• Identify and harness synergies across product divisions
• Coordinate lead sharing with branch offices and overseas partners
• Maintain regular communication with key principals and assess performance
• Oversee the branch team to raise awareness of services and discover new business opportunities
• Manage staff recruitment, training, and adherence to group policies
• Foster efficient processes and maintain standard operating procedures
• Collaborate with key managers to enhance process efficiency and address issues promptly
• Provide financial reports to HQ and ensure compliance with principal reporting
• Manage permits and ensure staff follow group standards and policies
• Promote open and constructive team communication
• Develop the forwarding business for revenue growth
• Meet or exceed targets in the liner division
• Increase the forwarding division's business

To succeed in this role, you will need to lead by example, manage pro-actively and are the front line for developing business and ensuring smooth execution of operations in all divisions.

Key Requirements:

• Minimum of five years of senior managerial experience in the marine and logistics industry
• Background in shipping line, shipping agent, or freight forwarding agent roles
• Strong interpersonal skills for managing the business and building relationships with domestic and overseas principals, customers, vendors, and partners
• Effective communication at all organisational levels, with principals, customers, and partners
• A proven track record in developing new business, managing operational service levels, and implementing process and system improvements
• Ability to manage and promote growth in all divisions in alignment with group targets, working closely with Product Managers to achieve those targets within the local market
