About the Business Development Advisor (O&G Upstream) Role: As the Business Development Advisor, you will collaborate closely with the Commercial Manager to devise and implement commercial strategies, specifically focusing on maximising the value of the resource block while identifying and pursuing opportunities within undeveloped oil and gas resources.
Develop and execute a comprehensive commercial strategy to enhance the value of the base business, particularly the Cepu Block, by identifying and pursuing opportunities within undeveloped oil and gas resources
Lead and enhance commercial processes and activities, ensuring alignment with global best practices and fostering internal coherence
Oversee commercial negotiations and discussions, ensuring alignment with internal stakeholders and external partners such as JV partners and SKK Migas
Actively manage ongoing upstream commercial matters within and outside the Cepu Block, evaluating opportunities and risks effectively
Evaluate large capital decisions or opportunities commercially to determine portfolio competitiveness and alignment with company objectives
Interface with commercial and development planning networks within ExxonMobil for in-country adoption of global initiatives
Mentor commercial staff on best practices, project management, and business acumen, fostering a culture of continuous improvement within the team
Ensure compliance with company policies, control procedures, and applicable laws and regulations
Collaborate with the Commercial Manager and external parties to negotiate and strategise production sharing contracts (PSCs), emphasising a strategic angle of exploration and maximising value
To succeed in this role, you must have a deep understanding of upstream oil and gas operations and PSC experience.
Bachelor's degree in a relevant field with a minimum of 10 years of experience in the oil and gas industry
Preferred experience of five to eight years with direct commercial/legal involvement in PSC negotiations
Must have understanding of project value and revenue generation, with the capability to strategically negotiate and build networks within Indonesia's government and SOE partners
Experience in challenging fields/operations, with a strong understanding of upstream oil and gas operations, contracts, and agreements
Demonstrated expertise in business acumen, commercial design, and project management, with a strong network within the company
Effective leadership, communication, and networking skills, with sound commercial judgement and a broader perspective of the company's interests
Ability to thrive in a multicultural environment and build effective relationships with external parties, including government and SOE partners
Excellent communication, presentation, interpersonal, analytical, and negotiation skills
Fluent in English and Bahasa Indonesia
