A rapidly expanding food commodity trading company is seeking a talented Logistics Manager (Upstream). In this job, you will lead a team and be responsible for logistic management for the whole country.
About the Logistics Manager (Upstream) Role: Due to excellent results and future expansion plans, the Logistics Manager (Upstream) will play a key role in managing the country logistics plan and operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee the entire supply chain, including procurement, transportation, warehousing, distribution, and inventory management
Monitor and optimise inventory levels to ensure efficient stock management and prevent stockouts or overstock situations
Coordinate and optimise transportation routes, modes, and carriers to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of goods
Manage warehouse operations, including layout, organisation, and efficient utilisation of space. Ensure accurate picking, packing, and shipping of products
Build and maintain relationships with suppliers, vendors, and service providers to ensure reliable and efficient supply chain operations
Identify cost-saving opportunities within the logistics process, negotiate contracts, and implement strategies to reduce operational expenses
Supervise and lead a team of logistics and warehouse personnel, providing direction, training, and performance management
Continuously evaluate and enhance logistics processes, implementing best practices to optimise efficiency and streamline operations
Identify potential risks or disruptions in the supply chain and develop contingency plans to mitigate them
Ensure compliance with local and international regulations related to transportation, import/export, and safety standards
Collect and analyse logistics data to track key performance indicators (KPIs), generate reports, and provide insights to support decision-making
To succeed in this Logistics Manager (Food Commodity) role, you must be able to articulate strategy to operational teams. Key Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain management, business administration, or a related field
Seven years' experience in logistics or supply chain management roles, with a proven track record of managing successful operations
Familiarity with the specific industry's logistics requirements and challenges, including regulations, customs procedures, and market dynamics
Strong leadership and management skills to effectively lead a team and collaborate with cross-functional departments
Ability to analyse data, identify trends, and make informed decisions to optimise logistics processes
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with internal teams, external partners, and stakeholders
Proven ability to solve complex logistical challenges and make quick decisions in a dynamic environment
Familiarity with logistics software, warehouse management systems (WMS), and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems
Proficiency in Indonesian and English languages, both written and spoken, may be required for effective communication
