A leading organisation in the FMCG sector is seeking a Supply Chain Director to spearhead its end-to-end supply chain strategy, ensuring seamless product availability and optimised costs across domestic and international markets. This pivotal role offers you the opportunity to shape the future of supply chain operations by driving digital transformation, fostering cross-functional collaboration, and building robust supplier relationships. You will be empowered to lead a talented team, nurture their growth, and create a culture of continuous improvement while maintaining high standards of service quality and regulatory compliance. With flexible working opportunities and a commitment to professional development, this position provides an exceptional platform for you to make a lasting impact on business growth and operational excellence.

  • Shape and execute comprehensive supply chain strategies that directly influence business growth, cost efficiency, and market competitiveness across multiple regions.
  • Lead digital transformation initiatives within the supply chain function, leveraging advanced systems such as ERP, WMS, and forecasting tools to enhance visibility, accuracy, and decision-making.
  • Foster a collaborative environment where your expertise in supplier management, risk mitigation, and team development will drive long-term supply sustainability and organisational capability.

What you'll do:

As Supply Chain Director, you will play a central role in orchestrating all aspects of the company’s supply chain from procurement through warehousing to final distribution. Your day-to-day responsibilities will involve designing forward-thinking strategies that anticipate market trends while ensuring products are available when needed at optimal costs. You will collaborate closely with internal stakeholders—such as sales, finance, manufacturing—and external partners including suppliers and logistics providers. By championing digital transformation initiatives like ERP implementation or advanced forecasting tools, you will elevate operational transparency and responsiveness. Your ability to nurture talent within your team will be crucial for sustaining high performance standards. Success in this role means consistently achieving service level targets (OTIF), maintaining healthy inventory metrics, optimising procurement processes for compliance and cost savings, enhancing logistics performance metrics such as lead time or damage rates, advancing S&OP maturity through structured collaboration, delivering on strategic transformation goals for digitalisation and resilience, as well as developing organisational capabilities through supportive leadership.

  • Develop and implement holistic supply chain strategies that ensure optimal product availability aligned with evolving market needs while maintaining cost efficiency.
  • Direct procurement activities by establishing policies that guarantee quality materials, continuity of supply, risk mitigation, and adherence to cost-saving objectives.
  • Oversee inventory management for raw materials, packaging components, and finished goods to balance service levels with cash flow requirements and minimise risks associated with expiry or slow-moving stock.
  • Strengthen the Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) process through integration with sales, finance, and manufacturing teams to support accurate forecasting and resource allocation.
  • Champion digital transformation projects within the supply chain function by deploying advanced tools such as ERP systems, demand forecasting solutions, inventory optimisation platforms, and real-time visibility technologies.
  • Lead demand and supply planning efforts to ensure alignment between production capacity, inventory levels, and both domestic and international market demands.
  • Supervise warehouse operations and distribution networks to maintain stock accuracy, delivery reliability, and logistics effectiveness throughout the value chain.
  • Cultivate strategic supplier relationships through effective contract negotiation and ongoing performance management to secure long-term supply sustainability.
  • Coach and develop the supply chain team by building analytical competencies and promoting a collaborative work culture focused on continuous improvement.
  • Identify and manage risks related to supplier dependency, demand volatility, logistics disruptions, and regulatory changes to safeguard business continuity.

What you bring:

To excel as Supply Chain Director you will bring extensive experience managing complex FMCG supply chains at a senior level. Your background should include not only technical proficiency in areas like demand planning or inventory optimisation but also strong interpersonal skills that enable you to foster trust-based relationships across departments. You are adept at navigating regulatory environments—particularly those relevant to export-import operations or food safety standards—and have demonstrated success leading digital transformation projects that improve operational visibility. Your approach is grounded in empathy; you understand how nurturing talent contributes directly to organisational capability. You thrive when collaborating with diverse teams towards shared goals such as cost efficiency or enhanced customer service levels. Your strategic mindset allows you to anticipate risks before they materialise while your commitment to continuous improvement ensures sustained competitive advantage for the business.

  • Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Logistics Management, Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain or related business fields; Master’s Degree in Management/Operations is preferred for added depth of knowledge.
  • At least 15 years’ experience in FMCG supply chain management with a proven track record overseeing end-to-end processes including procurement, planning, warehousing, and distribution.
  • A minimum of 7 years in senior management roles demonstrating responsibility for strategic direction-setting within complex organisations.
  • Comprehensive understanding of demand planning methodologies coupled with hands-on experience in procurement strategy development and supplier relationship management.
  • Demonstrated expertise in inventory policy design for raw materials through finished goods with an emphasis on balancing service levels against financial targets.
  • Proficiency in implementing S&OP processes integrated across sales, finance, manufacturing functions for holistic decision-making.
  • Advanced skills using ERP/SCM systems such as SAP or Oracle alongside warehouse management systems (WMS) and demand forecasting tools.
  • Strategic acumen in negotiating long-term contracts with suppliers while driving cost optimisation initiatives across the supply chain network.
  • Transformational leadership qualities evidenced by successful digitalisation projects or process improvements within previous roles.
  • Excellent communication skills in English enabling effective cross-functional collaboration internally as well as externally with vendors or regulators.
