- Benefit from ongoing training opportunities and exposure to advanced systems such as SAP S4/HANA, supporting your professional development within a respected industry leader.
What you'll do:
As Head of Export Finance Middle East and Africa Focus, you will play an instrumental role in shaping the organisation’s international growth strategy by managing complex export operations into challenging markets. Your day-to-day responsibilities will involve overseeing every aspect of the export cycle—from initial order processing through to final shipment—while ensuring strict compliance with diverse regulatory frameworks. You will nurture a talented team, encourage cross-departmental cooperation, and leverage your technical expertise to streamline workflows using state-of-the-art systems like SAP S4/HANA. Success in this role means not only delivering operational excellence but also building trusted relationships across cultures and generations. Your ability to adapt quickly to evolving market conditions while maintaining rigorous standards will be essential as you help drive sustainable business expansion.
- Oversee the complete export process from order receipt through shipment scheduling to final delivery, ensuring compliance with all relevant trade regulations for Indonesia and destination countries.
- Manage a team of 8–10 professionals, providing guidance, mentorship, and support to foster their growth and ensure high performance.
- Collaborate closely with Logistics, Sales/Export, Finance, and Production teams to guarantee smooth execution of export activities and resolve any operational challenges promptly.
- Handle approximately 400–500 export containers annually, maintaining meticulous attention to detail in documentation and shipment tracking.
- Ensure full mastery of export documentation requirements for both Indonesian authorities and all destination countries within Africa and the Middle East.
- Utilise advanced technical skills to optimise export processes using ERP systems; experience with SAP S4/HANA implementation is highly desirable.
- Monitor changes in international trade regulations affecting target markets and proactively adjust internal procedures to maintain compliance.
- Develop strong relationships with key stakeholders across different generations and cultural backgrounds to facilitate effective communication and problem-solving.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives by identifying process bottlenecks and recommending solutions that enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Represent the export finance function during audits or reviews by internal or external parties, ensuring transparency and adherence to best practices.
What you bring:
Your extensive background in export finance equips you with the practical knowledge needed to navigate complex international transactions efficiently. Drawing on years spent managing teams within leading FMCG or manufacturing organisations, you bring not only technical proficiency but also empathy for colleagues from varied backgrounds. Your familiarity with African and Middle Eastern markets allows you to anticipate logistical challenges unique to these regions. By leveraging advanced system skills—especially if you have worked with SAP S4/HANA—you are able to introduce efficiencies that benefit both your immediate team and wider business objectives. Your interpersonal strengths enable you to build trust quickly among stakeholders at all levels while fostering an atmosphere of mutual respect. Above all else, your commitment to accuracy ensures that every shipment meets regulatory standards without compromise.
- Minimum 8–12 years’ experience in export finance or related roles within FMCG or general manufacturing sectors is required for success in this position.
- At least 4 years’ proven track record managing teams in an international export environment is essential for guiding your direct reports effectively.
- Comprehensive understanding of end-to-end export processes—including order management, shipment scheduling, trade regulations, and documentation—is vital for this role.
- Specialised knowledge of logistics routes and regulatory requirements specific to Africa and the Middle East is mandatory due to market complexity.
- Advanced proficiency with ERP systems is expected; hands-on experience implementing or operating SAP S4/HANA will be considered a significant advantage.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly across different generations and cultural backgrounds ensures harmonious teamwork within diverse groups.
- Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams such as Logistics, Sales/Export, Finance, or Production enhances your effectiveness in this environment.
- Attention to detail when handling large volumes of shipments (400–500 containers annually) supports accurate documentation management.
