A leading energy organisation is seeking a Head of Facilities to oversee plant facilities, maintenance, and engineering operations across their thermal energy assets in Southeast Asia. This pivotal role offers you the opportunity to make a significant impact on operational reliability, safety, and performance within a highly respected industry leader. You will be empowered to optimise plant performance, nurture technical teams, and develop future engineering leaders while ensuring compliance with regulatory and safety standards. The organisation values flexibility, regional mobility, and professional growth, providing an environment where your expertise will be recognised and your career can flourish. If you are passionate about driving operational excellence and fostering supportive leadership in a collaborative setting, this is the ideal opportunity for you.

  • You will have the chance to lead large-scale industrial operations across multiple sites in Southeast Asia, offering exposure to diverse challenges and opportunities for professional growth.
  • The organisation is committed to flexible working opportunities and ongoing training, supporting your development as both a technical specialist and people leader.
  • You will join a knowledgeable team that values inclusive collaboration, generous pension contributions, and supportive leadership focused on nurturing talent and succession planning.

What you'll do:

As Head of Facilities, you will play a central role in shaping the day-to-day operations of thermal energy plants across Southeast Asia. Your responsibilities will span from managing complex maintenance schedules to guiding technical teams through challenging engineering projects. Success in this position requires a hands-on approach—engaging directly with field-based operations rather than remaining office-bound. You will be instrumental in developing robust asset management plans that ensure long-term reliability while actively mentoring future leaders within your team. By collaborating with regulatory bodies and internal stakeholders, you will help maintain high standards of safety and compliance. Your ability to drive process improvements will contribute significantly to optimising plant performance and cost efficiency. This role offers you the platform to demonstrate your commitment to operational excellence while nurturing a supportive environment for team development.

  • Lead and manage all aspects of plant facilities operations including maintenance, reliability, and engineering activities across power generation assets.
  • Ensure safe, reliable, and efficient plant performance by implementing best practices in operational management throughout the facilities.
  • Oversee preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance programmes for plant equipment and infrastructure to maximise uptime and minimise disruptions.
  • Drive process improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing operational efficiency, cost optimisation, and overall plant performance.
  • Provide technical guidance on plant systems, utilities, and engineering standards to ensure consistent quality and compliance.
  • Develop long-term maintenance strategies and asset management plans that support sustainable facility operations.
  • Mentor and develop engineering and technical teams by fostering a culture of learning, collaboration, and succession planning.
  • Work closely with operations teams, regulatory bodies, and external stakeholders to maintain compliance with all relevant standards.
  • Support capital projects including plant upgrades and facility improvements by contributing technical expertise and project oversight.
  • Ensure adherence to environmental health & safety (EHS), regulatory requirements, and operational compliance frameworks throughout all activities.

What you bring:

Your extensive experience in the energy sector equips you with the practical knowledge needed for success as Head of Facilities. You bring a deep understanding of plant operations gained from years spent managing complex maintenance programmes within industrial environments. Your ability to foster collaboration among technical teams ensures that everyone works together towards shared goals. With hands-on expertise in field-based engineering roles—not just office-based—you are adept at solving problems quickly while maintaining high standards of safety. Your academic background supports your technical proficiency while your leadership experience enables you to mentor others effectively. You are comfortable navigating regulatory frameworks and have demonstrated your capacity for developing high-performing teams through supportive leadership. Regional mobility is not only welcomed but seen as an opportunity for further growth.

  • 15–20 years of experience in energy, power generation, electricity, oil & gas or petrochemical sectors with proven track record in plant operations.
  • Extensive background in maintenance management and engineering within large-scale industrial facilities.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage technical teams effectively while fostering collaborative relationships among team members.
  • Hands-on experience working in field-based engineering environments with strong problem-solving skills.
  • Deep understanding of process-driven plant operations as well as reliability engineering principles.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical or related discipline) required; advanced qualifications are advantageous.
  • Experience engaging with regulatory bodies and maintaining strict safety compliance frameworks within industrial settings.
  • Leadership experience overseeing large-scale industrial or power generation facilities is highly preferred.
  • Comfortable balancing technical specialism with people leadership responsibilities including team development and succession planning.
  • Open to regional mobility across Southeast Asia as required by business needs.
