What you'll do:
As Packaging Manager you will be at the forefront of technical development for packaging solutions within a highly respected FMCG organisation. Your day-to-day activities will involve close collaboration with marketing teams to translate consumer needs into innovative packaging concepts that are both functional and appealing. You will manage the entire lifecycle of packaging projects from initial concept through industrialisation—ensuring that each step meets rigorous standards for quality, cost control, timing accuracy, regulatory compliance, and environmental responsibility. By compiling comprehensive technical documentation and coordinating validation processes across departments you will ensure smooth project execution. - Drive the technical development of packaging and finished products by collaborating closely with marketing teams to transform consumer insights into practical technical solutions.
- Oversee every stage of the packaging process including design, approval (homologation), specification, and industrialisation while ensuring alignment with quality, timing, cost, and sustainability objectives.
- Collect and integrate all relevant technical, production, economic, safety, environmental impact, and standardisation requirements necessary for effective packaging design.
- Conduct comprehensive risk analyses during the design phase and implement robust action plans to mitigate potential issues.
- Approve technical packaging designs that optimise production efficiency, cost-effectiveness, timing precision, quality assurance, sustainability targets, and consumer-centricity.
- Compile detailed technical documentation such as drawings, preliminary specifications, and guidelines required for quotations and project execution.
- Organise, coordinate, and approve various validation processes in accordance with established design quality systems while disseminating accurate technical specifications.
- Monitor all stages of the packaging schedule proactively identifying risks or deviations and communicating these effectively to relevant stakeholders.
- Support early-stage innovation projects through seamless collaboration with cross-functional innovation teams to drive new product initiatives forward.
- Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in existing products focusing on functionality enhancement, cost reduction, perceived value increase, sustainability advancement, quality improvement, and productivity gains.

- A university degree or equivalent qualification in Packaging or a related field is essential for this role.
- Between 8–15 years of proven experience working specifically within packaging management roles in the fast-moving consumer goods sector is required.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively across different levels of an organisation as well as with external partners is vital.
- Hands-on knowledge of all molding technologies used in FMCG—including injection molding (IM), extrusion blow molding (EBM), injection stretch blow molding (ISBM), and injection blow molding (IBM)—is expected.
- Experience managing complex projects independently while also contributing positively as part of cross-functional teams is important.
- A thorough understanding of sustainability requirements along with adherence to both local Indonesian regulations and international standards is necessary.
- Proven track record in conducting risk analysis during design phases followed by implementation of effective action plans is highly valued.
- Ability to compile clear technical documents such as drawings specifications guidelines for quotation purposes demonstrates attention to detail.
