VP Logistics & Aftersales

Save job

A leading automotive principal is seeking a Vice President of Logistics and Aftersales to join their Jakarta-based team. This is an exceptional opportunity for you to shape the future of end-to-end vehicle movement and aftersales excellence in a 100% import-driven business model.

You will be empowered to oversee a talented team, work closely with senior executives, and drive operational improvements that directly impact customer satisfaction and business performance. The organisation offers a supportive environment where your expertise in supply chain, customs compliance, and aftersales profitability will be highly valued. With direct access to decision-makers and the chance to influence strategic outcomes, this role provides both challenge and reward within a collaborative culture that values flexibility, professional growth, and shared success.

  • • Join a respected automotive principal with a fully import-based business model, offering you the chance to lead logistics and aftersales strategy across Indonesia.
  • • Enjoy executive-level benefits and the opportunity to work alongside knowledgeable leaders who value your input and support your career development.
  • • Be part of an inclusive workplace that encourages flexible working opportunities, fosters teamwork, and recognises your contributions to operational excellence.

What you'll do:

As Vice President of Logistics and Aftersales, you will play a pivotal role in shaping how imported vehicles reach customers efficiently while ensuring aftersales services exceed expectations. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include overseeing all aspects of vehicle movement via trusted third-party partners, optimising parts distribution networks for maximum uptime, and collaborating with government agencies to ensure seamless customs clearance. You will nurture a high-performing team by providing clear direction, empathetic support, and ongoing development opportunities. By leveraging digital tools to enhance operational transparency and responsiveness, you will help set new standards for customer experience in the automotive sector. Your ability to foster strong partnerships—both internally across departments and externally with logistics providers—will be key to driving sustainable growth. Success in this role means consistently delivering reliable results while championing an inclusive culture where everyone shares in achievement.

  • Oversee the seamless movement of imported vehicles from port arrival through to showroom delivery by managing third-party logistics partners with a focus on efficiency and reliability.
  • Take full ownership of the profit and loss for spare parts distribution and service operations, ensuring revenue growth while nurturing long-term customer loyalty.
  • Collaborate closely with the Government Relations team to guarantee smooth customs clearance processes for all vehicle imports, maintaining compliance with local regulations at every stage.
  • Lead two experienced managers—one in logistics and one in aftersales—and guide a dedicated team of eleven staff members towards achieving shared goals.
  • Optimise inventory management and first-time fix rates by implementing digital tools such as Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and Transport Management Systems (TMS).
  • Build dependable relationships with external logistics providers, ensuring service levels are met or exceeded through regular performance reviews and open communication.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives across all aspects of logistics and aftersales operations, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and mutual respect.
  • Support the development of best practices for parts distribution networks, ensuring timely availability of components to maximise customer satisfaction.
  • Work hand-in-hand with senior leadership—including the CEO/COO—to align operational strategies with broader organisational objectives.
  • Champion a safe, inclusive, and supportive working environment where every team member feels valued and empowered.

What you bring:

To excel as Vice President of Logistics and Aftersales, you will draw upon extensive experience gained within major automotive principals or aftermarket organisations. Your track record includes not only overseeing complex supply chains but also nurturing aftersales teams that deliver outstanding customer care. You understand the nuances of working with Japanese OEMs—valuing their emphasis on quality assurance—and can translate these standards into local practice. Your commercial insight allows you to balance financial stewardship with operational needs while always keeping customer satisfaction front-of-mind. You thrive in environments where collaboration is essential; your ability to connect people across functions ensures that challenges are addressed collectively rather than in isolation. By embracing digital transformation initiatives thoughtfully, you help teams adapt smoothly while maintaining high morale. Above all else, your warmth as a leader inspires loyalty among colleagues who appreciate your commitment to their growth.

  • You bring at least 15–20 years’ proven experience in supply chain or aftersales roles within an automotive principal or aftermarket environment.
  • Your background includes significant exposure to Japanese Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs), such as Toyota or similar brands.
  • You possess deep commercial acumen demonstrated by hands-on P&L responsibility for large-scale operations spanning multiple locations.
  • Your interpersonal skills enable you to collaborate effectively with government agencies on customs matters while building trust-based relationships across teams.
  • You have successfully managed third-party logistics providers in complex import scenarios, always prioritising reliability and transparency.
  • Your technical proficiency includes implementing digital solutions like WMS/TMS to streamline inventory control and improve service metrics.
  • You are known for your supportive approach to people management—mentoring managers and staff alike toward collective success.
  • Your communication style is clear, considerate, and tailored to diverse audiences including senior executives, frontline staff, and external partners.
  • You demonstrate sensitivity when navigating regulatory environments, ensuring compliance without compromising operational agility.

What sets this company apart:

This organisation stands out as one of Indonesia’s most respected automotive principals—renowned for its commitment to quality products, ethical business practices, and employee wellbeing. With no local manufacturing footprint, the company has mastered the art of import-based operations supported by robust government relations. Employees benefit from executive-level perks designed around flexibility and personal development; whether it’s access to advanced training programmes or opportunities for cross-functional collaboration, you’ll find plenty of ways to expand your skillset here. The leadership team is approachable yet visionary—always open to fresh ideas that promote inclusivity or enhance operational resilience. A genuine sense of community pervades every level: successes are celebrated together while challenges are met with empathy rather than pressure.
