Our client is seeking a dedicated professional to fill the role of Head of Bunker Operations and Fleet Efficiency. This pivotal role will ensure reliable, safe voyage operations and validate vessel’s route data to improve overall energy efficiency for all vessels. The successful candidate will be instrumental in maintaining cost-effective and safe maritime operations, working closely with various stakeholders to enhance energy management for vessels.

What you'll do:

As the Head of Bunker Operations and Fleet Efficiency, you will play a crucial role in ensuring efficient and safe maritime operations. Your primary responsibility will be to validate voyage routing sent by Captains, executing voyage plans economically while maintaining high safety standards. You will work closely with various stakeholders, including Nautical/Technical teams, to enhance energy management for vessels. Your commitment to adhering to voyage execution processes and SOPs will contribute significantly to our continuous improvement initiatives. Furthermore, your ability to conduct root cause analysis and manage data effectively will be vital in crisis resolution and incident investigations.

  • Validate voyage routing sent by Captains, executing voyage plans economically with high safety standards while coordinating schedule reliability
  • Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to enhance energy management for vessels
  • Adhere to voyage execution processes and standard operating procedures (SOPs) while actively participating in continuous improvement initiatives
  • Engage with Nautical/Technical teams to achieve safe and cost-effective voyage execution, maintaining a 24/7 mindset
  • Work closely with the vessel planning team to minimize the impact of adverse weather conditions
  • Monitor implementation of bunker-saving initiatives and voyage execution strategies
  • Conduct root cause analysis and manage data for crisis resolution and incident investigations
  • Carry out business case analysis and economic evaluations reflecting strategic approach

What you bring:

The ideal candidate for the Head of Bunker Operations and Fleet Efficiency role holds a Captain or Chief Officer rank with at least 1 to 3 years of relevant experience. You demonstrate a commitment to working in a 24/7 rotational shift environment, including public holidays and weekends. Your robust comprehension of marine operations, ship management processes, and data analytics skills will be essential in this role. You are proficient in utilizing the latest navigational assistance tools and technology to track, monitor, and analyze a wide range of meteorological and geographical data 24/7 during assigned shifts. Your goal-oriented behavior, high level of learning agility, proactive problem-solving skills, and IT literacy will contribute significantly to our maritime operations.

  • Holds a Captain or Chief Officer rank with at least 1 to 3 years of relevant experience
