About the Instrument Engineer (Oil and Gas) Role: Reporting to the Project Manager, you will ensure the instrumentation, control and telecom plant design is in line with GOI regulations and applicable international standards and engineering practices.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop instrumentation and control system designs, specifications, and drawings in compliance with project and industry standards
Select appropriate instrumentation and control devices (e.g. sensors, transmitters, control valves) based on project requirements
Assist in project planning, budgeting, and scheduling for the instrumentation and control systems
Coordinate with other engineering disciplines and project teams to ensure integration of instrumentation systems
Prepare material and equipment requisitions for instrumentation and control components
Evaluate and select suppliers and vendors for instrumentation equipment
Supervise and provide technical guidance during the installation, calibration, and commissioning of instrumentation systems
Ensure compliance with safety standards and project specifications
Integrate instrumentation with the Distributed Control System (DCS) or Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) for process control
Develop and implement control strategies to optimise process performance
Ensure that all instrumentation and control systems comply with safety regulations, industry codes, and project-specific requirements
Develop maintenance procedures and schedules for instrumentation equipment
To succeed in this Instrument Engineer (Oil and Gas) role, you must have the ability to collaborate with other engineering disciplines and having deep experience in oil and gas projects.
Key Requirements:
Bachelor's or master's degree in physics engineering
At least 15 years' experience in instrument engineering in the oil and gas industry, including experience in managing a plant or production unit
Familiar with construction and operation of oil and gas instrument and control systems, including SCADA, PLC and DCS, FEED
Must have a working knowledge of the codes and standards and must have been the principal engineer responsible for the design of similar control systems
Experienced in the use of computer programmes applicable to such designs
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex problems and develop effective solutions
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise with project stakeholders, contractors, and regulatory authorities
