What you'll do:
As an R&D Manager in the Food Industry, your role will be pivotal in driving the commercialisation of innovations within our client's Asia Business Units. You will be responsible for developing customer and consumer insights to guide their innovation growth program, identifying potential growth opportunities, and evaluating their product portfolio to ensure optimal fit for each opportunity. Your leadership skills will be utilised as you lead a team of R&D Project leaders and technologists, coordinating product and packaging development with the global R&D product and pack design team. Furthermore, you will maintain and build a strong network of both retail and food service contacts.
- Develop customer and consumer insights to guide innovation growth program.
- Identify potential growth opportunities and strategies by channel.
- Evaluate products portfolio for the best possible product fit for each opportunity.
- Initiate development briefs for new product solutions when appropriate.
- Serve as Technical Project Leader on projects involving roll out of existing technologies.
- Lead a team of R&D Project leaders and technologists.
- Coordinate product and packaging development with the global R&D product and pack design team.
- Maintain and build a strong network of both retail and food service contacts.
What you bring:
The ideal candidate for this R&D Manager (Food) position brings a wealth of experience in regulatory, foods product development, project leadership. With at least 7 years' experience under your belt, you have developed a deep understanding of Oils & Fats technology. Your ability to work independently yet within a global framework sets you apart from others. You are flexible, adaptable, and thrive in fast-paced environments. Your strong communication skills enable you to effectively convey complex ideas, while your fluency in English ensures seamless integration into our international team.
- Minimum university degree in food Technologist or relevant science.
- Minimum 7 years’ experience in foods product development, project leadership.
- Knowledge in Oils & Fats technology.
- Ability to work independently but also within a global framework.
- Flexibility and willingness to adapt within a fast-changing environment.
- Strong communication skills.
- Fluency in English, spoken and written.
