Our client is seeking a highly skilled Procurement Manager to join their team in Makassar, Sulawesi. In this pivotal role, you will lead, create and execute the company's indirect sourcing strategy to optimise investments in terms of cost, quality, risk and availability. You will be responsible for ensuring supplier performance and act as the first point of contact for suppliers and internal clients. What you'll do:

As the Procurement Manager (Sulawesi), your role will be multifaceted. You will be tasked with creating strategies that not only impact the bottom line but also contribute to the productivity programmes of each segment. Your ability to collaborate within the region will ensure that the business can leverage the benefits of regional and global relationships with suppliers. Your keen eye for detail will enable you to perform spend analysis based on market and financial insights for the category. Your leadership skills will be crucial in managing relationships with local suppliers to drive performance management, deliver continuous quality and cost improvement.

  • Create and execute strategies for value creation in terms of P&L impact, cost avoidance, contribution to productivity programmes and cash
  • Collaborate within the region to leverage benefits of regional and global relationships with suppliers
  • Secure price, capacity and service levels for all goods and services in line with business commitments
  • Perform spend analysis based on market and financial insights for the category
  • Develop local market insights including benchmarking externally and importing best practices locally
  • Manage relationships with local suppliers to drive performance management, deliver continuous quality and cost improvement
  • Create and implement indirect sourcing strategy ensuring effective risk management through robust contracts
  • Establish and maintain relationships with key stakeholders in S&OP processes
  • Ensure compliance with policies, systems and controls according to standards


What you bring:

The ideal candidate for this Procurement Manager (Sulawesi) position brings a wealth of experience in procurement management roles, preferably within the FMCG industry. Your strong supplier/customer management experience coupled with your financial acumen sets you apart from others. Your expertise in indirect and packaging buying is essential for this role. Fluency in English is required as you'll be communicating with various stakeholders across different regions. Your good leadership skills will enable you to effectively manage your team.

  • Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain procurement or a related field
  • Minimum of 5+ years of experience in a procurement manager role, preferably in the FMCG industry
  • Strong supplier/customer management experience and financial acumen
  • Indirect and packaging buying experience is a must
  • Fluency in English
  • Good leadership skills
