An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dynamic and experienced Operations Manager (Trading) to join a leading wholesaler of plastic products. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the entire supply chain and import process for the company's operations in Indonesia, working closely with an international team to ensure excellent quality standards are adhered to.   • Coordinate with suppliers, freight forwarders, customs brokers, and other relevant parties to manage the import process

What you'll do:
As an Operations Manager (Trading), you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our client's Indonesian operations. You will be entrusted with overseeing all aspects of their supply chain processes - from warehousing and inventory control to supply chain management and import management. Your expertise will be crucial in developing efficient warehouse operations, managing logistics for timely delivery of finished goods, coordinating procurement activities, and ensuring compliance with import-export laws. Furthermore, your leadership skills will be instrumental in managing staff resources effectively for seamless operational flow.

  • Develop and oversee the complete warehouse operations in Indonesia, ensuring efficient inventory control of raw materials, packaging, and finished goods
  • Manage the logistics of finished goods, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery to customers
  • Work closely with the procurement team to allocate and coordinate the procurement of own use items such as raw materials, packaging from vendors
  • Liaise and negotiate with supply chain vendor whenever necessary
  • Manage the import process by coordinating with suppliers, freight forwarders, customs brokers, and other relevant parties
  • Review shipping and customs documents, including commercial invoices, packing lists, certificates of origin, bill of lading, and customs declarations
  • Ensure compliance with import-export laws and regulations by staying updated on changes in customs requirements and assisting with customs clearance procedures
  • Allocate and manage staff resources (permanent and contractual) to ensure a seamless operation flow
  • Ensure that company is in compliance with the statutory and regulatory requirements

What you bring:
The ideal Operations Manager (Trading) will bring a wealth of experience, preferably from a plastic industry background, although candidates from homeware, packaging and FMCG industries may also be considered. You will have a strong technical background in supply chain management, production or manufacturing, coupled with excellent leadership and people skills. Your ability to adapt in dynamic environments, proficiency in computer skills, particularly in using warehouse management systems, and fluency in Bahasa Indonesia and conversational English are essential for this role.

  • Have 5 to 8 years of experience in a supervisory or management role in Operations.
  • Candidates preferably from a plastic industry background is desired (homeware, packaging, FMCG, Retail and E-commerce industry may be considered)
  • Strong technical background in supply chain management, production or manufacturing is preferred
  • Good leadership and people skills to motivate and influence others positively
  • Comfortable and able to adapt in dynamic environments
  • Proficient computer skills with experience in using any warehouse management system
  • Able to communicate in English, if able to speak Chinese language is a plus
  • Willing to be based in Bekasi area
