About the Agro Development Manager Role: Reporting to the Agro Development Lead, you will lead all agro development activities and manage teams across Indonesia. As the Agro Developemnt Manager, you take charge of planning, implementing, and overseeing agricultural development projects and programmes aimed at improving productivity, sustainability, and overall growth within the agricultural sector.
Develop and implement comprehensive agro development strategies aligned with organisational goals and industry trends
Conduct thorough market research to identify opportunities and challenges within the agricultural sector
Build and lead implementation of functional Strategic Plan and Work with and align with potential third party suppliers for seed and chip stock supply
Plan, execute, and monitor agro-based projects to ensure timely completion and achievement of project objectives
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, government agencies, and local communities to facilitate project success
Provide technical assistance and training to farmers on modern agricultural practices, sustainable farming techniques, and the use of advanced technologies
Establish and maintain strong relationships with farmers, cooperatives, and community leaders
Manage budgets, allocate resources efficiently, and ensure cost-effectiveness in project implementation
Source and coordinate the distribution of agricultural inputs such as seeds, fertilizers, and machinery
Stay updated on local and national agricultural regulations and ensure compliance with relevant laws
Work closely with government agencies and other stakeholders to navigate regulatory requirements
Identify market opportunities for agricultural products and work on strategies to improve market access for farmers
Analyse market trends and assist farmers in diversifying their products based on consumer demand
The successful Agro Development Manager is business focused, entrepreneurial and driven.
Bachelor's or master's degree in Agriculture, Agribusiness, Agricultural Economics, or a related field
Proven experience in agricultural development, project management, and stakeholder engagement, especially for potato or corn
Minimum 10 years of experience in related field
Strong knowledge of sustainable farming practices, agro-processing, and market dynamics
Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills
Ability to work collaboratively in a diverse and dynamic environment
Proficiency in data analysis and project management tools
Familiarity with relevant agricultural policies and regulations
