What you'll do:

As Legal Counsel based in Jakarta, you will play a pivotal role in guiding the organisation through complex legal landscapes while building strong connections across teams. Your daily responsibilities will involve advising on regulatory matters specific to the pharmaceutical industry, negotiating contracts that underpin critical business operations, and helping shape internal policies that reflect ethical standards. • Provide clear and practical legal advice on regulatory compliance, contracts, intellectual property, employment law, and other relevant areas within the pharmaceutical sector.
• Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of commercial agreements to ensure the organisation’s interests are protected while maintaining positive relationships with partners.
• Support cross-functional teams by offering dependable guidance on legal risks and solutions in product development, marketing, procurement, and distribution activities.
• Monitor changes in laws and regulations affecting the pharmaceutical industry in Indonesia, proactively updating internal stakeholders and recommending responsive actions.
• Assist in managing disputes and litigation processes by preparing documentation, liaising with external counsel, and representing the organisation’s interests with sensitivity and professionalism.
• Develop and deliver engaging training sessions for staff on key legal topics such as anti-bribery policies, data privacy requirements, and ethical business practices.
• Contribute to policy development by drafting internal guidelines that promote responsible conduct and safeguard the company’s reputation.

What you bring:

Your proven background as Legal Counsel equips you with deep knowledge of regulatory frameworks relevant to pharmaceuticals as well as broad experience handling commercial agreements. You bring excellent communication abilities that allow you to build rapport with colleagues from different disciplines while explaining complex issues simply. Your collaborative approach ensures that you work harmoniously within teams—always considering others’ perspectives—and your empathy helps create an atmosphere where people feel comfortable seeking your advice. You have demonstrated responsibility in managing sensitive information discreetly. Experience delivering training sessions further highlights your commitment to sharing knowledge generously. With fluency in Bahasa Indonesia (and ideally English), plus formal qualifications in law, you are ready to contribute meaningfully from day one.

• Bachelor’s degree in Law from a reputable university, with at least 8 years of working experience.
• Demonstrated experience as a Legal Counsel or similar role within corporate or regulated environments such as pharmaceuticals or healthcare.
• Comprehensive understanding of Indonesian laws relating to commercial contracts, intellectual property rights, employment matters, regulatory compliance, and dispute resolution.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills enabling you to explain complex legal concepts clearly to non-legal colleagues.
• Proven track record of working collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams while maintaining high standards of integrity and confidentiality.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently under time constraints without sacrificing attention to detail or quality of work.
• Strong interpersonal skills including empathy, active listening, diplomacy, and a commitment to fostering positive relationships across all levels of an organisation.
• Experience developing or delivering training programmes on legal topics for diverse audiences is highly desirable.
• Familiarity with document management systems or digital tools used for tracking legal cases is advantageous but not essential.
