What you'll do:
As a Senior Legal Counsel, your role will be pivotal in supporting the growth of our client's business in Southeast Asia. You will be responsible for interpreting OJK regulations, liaising with regulators, advising on legal issues within the technology and fintech space, and making decisions that have both legal and business impacts. Your expertise will be crucial in leading the legal function across three entities in Indonesia, conducting regulatory and compliance advisory, reviewing data and tech products, supporting business negotiations, and handling contentious matters primarily within the Indonesian market.
- Interpret OJK regulations and liaise with regulators
- Advise on legal issues in relation to the technology and fintech space
- Lead the legal function across three entities in Indonesia
- Conduct regulatory and compliance advisory
- Review data and tech products
- Support business negotiations and contentious matters mainly in the Indonesia market
- Plan the set up and operations of the Indonesia legal AAI team
- Coordinate external counsel
What you bring:
As a Senior Legal Counsel, you bring extensive experience as an Indonesia-law qualified lawyer with minimum 8 years PQE. Your background includes working in TMT, M&A or banking/ finance in a tier1/2 law firm. In-house experience with a tech / fintech company is essential. You possess knowledge of complex legal matters related to technology, finance, and OJK regulations. You understand current technology trends including AI and data issues. Your proven track record includes building and leading a legal team.
- Minimum 8 years PQE as an Indonesia-law qualified lawyer
- Experience working in TMT, M&A or banking/ finance in a tier1/2 law firm
- In-house experience with a tech / fintech company essential
- Knowledge of complex legal matters related to technology, finance, and OJK regulations
- Understanding of current technology and innovation trends (AI and data issues)
- Experience building and leading a legal team
