A market leading insurance company is currently recruiting for a Head of Legal job to support their business in Indonesia. In this job, you will be stationed in their Jakarta office.

About the Head of Legal Role:
You will be responsible for overseeing the legal aspects of the company’s business, ensuring compliance with law guidelines and provide legal advice to the management and board about all relevant issues. You will also ensure effective management of legal and contractual risks in order to maintain company’s reputation.

Key Responsibilities:

• Coordinate and communicate on various board meetings to support compliance of limited corporation (PT) in Indonesia
• Apply effective risk management techniques and offer proactive advise on possible legal issues
• Mitigate commercial risks and industrial risks
• Give accurate and timely counsel to executives in a variety of legal topics (partnerships, client management, code of conduct, compliance, etc.)
• Collaborate with management to devise effective legal strategies
• Specify internal governance policies and regularly monitor compliance
• Draft and solidify agreements, contracts and other legal documents to ensure the company’s full legal rights
• Deal with complex matters with multiple stakeholders and forces
• Provide clarification on legal language or specifications to everyone in the organisation
• Maintain high standard of compliance with integrity

To succeed in this Head of Legal job, you will need to have the ability to work effectively and co-operatively with senior business development teams, across borders and internal matrix, analytical ability, attention to detail, logical reasoning, persuasiveness, time management, and costumer oriented services.

Key Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in law, master's degree is preferable. 10 – 15 years experience as an in-house counsel, with a minimum of three years' experience in a private practice
• Certified advocate (PERADI licensed preferable)
• Excellent management skills, be able to work under pressure and strong personality is essential
• Business understanding in corporate law and civil law
• Good communication and negotiation skills
