An exciting opportunity awaits for a Human Resources Manager to join a newly established logistics organisation specialising in coal transportation, based in Jakarta. This role offers the unique chance to build HR functions from the ground up, shaping policies and practices that will define the company’s culture and future success. You will play a pivotal part in setting up compensation and benefits structures, developing company policies, and ensuring seamless fleet management support. The position requires adaptability, as you will be involved both at the Jakarta office and on-site during the initial setup phase. If you are passionate about creating supportive environments, thrive in collaborative settings, and possess excellent English communication skills, this is your chance.

  • Be instrumental in establishing all HR processes for a new logistics company focused on coal transportation, with direct influence over policy creation and compensation frameworks.
  • Enjoy a varied work environment with time split between Jakarta headquarters and operational sites, offering flexibility and exposure to multiple aspects of the business.
  • Benefit from an inclusive workplace that values collaboration, provides training opportunities for professional growth, and encourages supportive leadership throughout your career journey.

What you'll do:

As a Human Resources Manager, you will be entrusted with building the entire HR function from scratch for a newly launched logistics enterprise. Your day-to-day activities will involve designing robust policies that underpin every aspect of employee experience—from recruitment through retention—while ensuring these align with operational needs specific to coal transportation. You’ll work hand-in-hand with fleet management teams to guarantee HR initiatives support logistical efficiency. During the crucial setup phase, your presence will be required both at the Jakarta office and on-site locations to oversee smooth implementation of systems. Success in this role means creating an environment where employees feel valued, supported, and motivated to contribute their best efforts toward shared goals.

  • Develop comprehensive human resources policies and procedures tailored to the needs of a new logistics organisation specialising in coal transportation.
  • Design and implement competitive compensation and benefits packages that attract and retain top talent within the industry.
  • Collaborate closely with fleet management teams to ensure HR practices support efficient logistics operations across all locations.
  • Facilitate recruitment processes by identifying staffing requirements, conducting interviews, and onboarding new employees effectively.
  • Establish clear communication channels between Jakarta headquarters and operational sites to maintain consistent HR standards.
  • Provide guidance on employment law compliance, workplace safety regulations, and best practices for employee relations.
  • Support managers and staff through training programmes aimed at fostering teamwork, inclusivity, and professional development.
  • Monitor employee performance metrics and develop strategies for continuous improvement in engagement and satisfaction.
  • Travel regularly between Jakarta office and remote sites during the initial setup period to oversee implementation of HR systems.
  • Champion a positive organisational culture by promoting collaborative values, empathy, and open communication among all team members.

What you bring:

Your background as a Human Resources Manager should reflect hands-on expertise in developing HR frameworks within complex organisations. You bring not only technical knowledge but also genuine compassion for people; your interpersonal skills enable you to connect meaningfully with colleagues across departments. Fluency in English allows you to communicate clearly with both local staff and international partners. Your willingness to travel demonstrates commitment to seeing projects through from planning stages to successful execution. Familiarity with relevant legal requirements ensures your work remains compliant while prioritising fairness. Above all else, your enthusiasm for nurturing inclusive cultures sets you apart as someone who can help shape this new company’s identity from its earliest days.

  • Demonstrated experience in human resources management within logistics or related industries is highly desirable for understanding sector-specific challenges.
  • Proven ability to set up HR functions from inception including policy development, compensation structuring, and benefits administration.
  • Exceptional English language proficiency is essential for effective communication across diverse teams and stakeholders.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a commitment to fostering inclusive workplaces built on trust, empathy, and collaboration.
  • Willingness to travel between Jakarta headquarters and operational sites during initial company setup period is required.
  • Knowledge of Indonesian labour laws as well as international HR best practices ensures compliance and ethical standards are maintained.
  • Experience supporting fleet management operations or similar logistical environments adds valuable insight into workforce needs.
  • Ability to design engaging training programmes that promote teamwork, professional growth, and supportive leadership throughout the organisation.
  • A dependable approach to problem-solving combined with sensitivity towards employee concerns helps nurture positive relationships at all levels.
  • Adaptability in fast-changing environments coupled with enthusiasm for building processes from scratch makes you an ideal fit for this pioneering role.

What sets this company apart:

Joining this organisation means becoming part of an ambitious venture at its very foundation—a rare opportunity where your contributions directly influence how things are done now and into the future. The company places high value on collaboration, empathy, and mutual respect among all team members. Flexible working arrangements allow you to balance time between Jakarta’s vibrant city life and dynamic site operations. Training opportunities are provided so you can continue growing professionally while helping others do the same. Supportive leadership ensures your ideas are heard; togetherness is celebrated as key decisions are made collectively rather than hierarchically.
