What you'll do:
As an EPC Deputy Project Manager Oil and Gas based in Jakarta, you will play a vital role in supporting the Project Manager by overseeing planning, coordination, execution, reporting, compliance management, stakeholder engagement, contractor performance monitoring, interface reporting with government offices such as SKK MIGAS/MIGAS/ESDM as well as downstream companies. Your day-to-day responsibilities will involve facilitating meetings that drive progress; tracking key deliverables; collaborating with both internal teams (Engineering/Procurement/Construction/Commissioning/QA-QC/HSE/Project Control/Finance/Operations) and external parties (vendors/contractors/regulatory authorities); preparing comprehensive reports; managing change orders; ensuring adherence to safety standards; promoting a strong safety culture; supervising team members; delegating tasks effectively; providing guidance/support/problem-solving assistance; acting on behalf of the Project Manager during absences or delegation. - Assist in developing comprehensive Project Execution Plans, schedules, and budgets to ensure all aspects of the project are meticulously planned and coordinated.
- Organise and facilitate project kick-off meetings, progress reviews, and technical discussions to maintain clear communication among all stakeholders.
- Track deliverables, milestones, and dependencies with precision, ensuring timely updates are communicated across internal teams and external partners.
- Monitor daily progress across engineering, procurement, construction, installation, and commissioning activities to guarantee alignment with project objectives.
- Identify potential risks or issues promptly and propose effective mitigation strategies to safeguard project outcomes.
- Coordinate seamlessly with internal departments such as Engineering, Procurement, Construction, Commissioning, QA/QC, HSE, Project Control, Finance, Operations as well as external vendors, contractors, authorities.
- Follow up diligently on work orders, purchase orders, approvals, permits, and regulatory requirements to ensure compliance at every stage.
- Review progress reports, cost reports, and schedule updates regularly to support the Project Manager in maintaining control over costs and timelines.
- Prepare detailed weekly and monthly progress reports for management and stakeholders to keep everyone informed of achievements and challenges.
- Ensure variation orders, changes, and claims are managed accurately with thorough documentation for transparency.

- Extensive capability in managing large-scale onshore oil and gas projects from inception through completion with proven results.
- Experience handling EPC projects located in remote areas is considered advantageous for this position.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with contractors and clients while maintaining high standards of professionalism.
- Excellent written and spoken communication skills in both Bahasa Indonesia and English are essential for effective stakeholder engagement.
- Comprehensive understanding of project planning methodologies including cost control principles as well as procurement processes relevant to oil & gas operations.
- Outstanding interpersonal skills enabling you to build trust-based relationships across multidisciplinary teams.
- Familiarity with industry-standard project management tools such as Primavera or MS Project along with advanced reporting systems is highly desirable.
