General Manager – Conservation and Resort Hospitality

Save job

An exciting opportunity awaits for an experienced General Manager to take on a pivotal role overseeing the full spectrum of operations at one of Indonesia’s leading integrated conservation and resort hospitality destinations. This is a unique chance to act as a 'mini CEO', managing a diverse business unit that blends wildlife conservation, theme park attractions, food and beverage outlets, and luxury resort experiences.

This organisation is renowned for its commitment to conservation, education, and recreation, offering you the platform to make a meaningful impact while advancing your career in a supportive environment. With multiple locations across Java and Bali. If you are passionate about operational excellence, digital innovation, and nurturing high-performing teams within the hospitality sector, this is your moment to shine.

  • Oversee all aspects of a major business unit combining theme parks, wildlife conservation areas, F&B outlets, and resort hospitality across prime Indonesian locations.
  • Enjoy a permanent role with attractive benefits such as accommodation support, transport provision, meal allowances, performance bonuses, and family medical coverage.
  • Be part of an organisation preparing for future growth opportunities—including a potential IPO—while championing conservation and guest experience excellence.

What you'll do:

As General Manager – Conservation and Resort Hospitality, you will be entrusted with end-to-end responsibility for one of the organisation’s flagship business units. Your day-to-day activities will involve orchestrating the smooth operation of theme parks, wildlife sanctuaries, F&B venues, and luxury resorts—all underpinned by a strong focus on financial stewardship. You will play a central role in shaping guest experiences through digital innovation while ensuring that every aspect of the operation meets rigorous standards for quality and safety. Success in this role means building cohesive teams who share your passion for conservation and hospitality; it also means continuously seeking ways to improve processes so that both guests and staff benefit from an inclusive environment where everyone can thrive. Your ability to balance commercial acumen with empathy will be key as you help drive the organisation’s mission forward.

  • Take full responsibility for profit and loss management as well as cash flow oversight for your assigned business unit location.
  • Direct daily operations across theme parks, wildlife conservation zones, food and beverage facilities, and resort hospitality services to ensure seamless integration.
  • Implement regular audits and inspections while driving process improvements to achieve operational excellence throughout all departments.
  • Lead digital transformation initiatives aimed at enhancing guest experience, streamlining processes, and supporting sustainable growth.
  • Ensure strict adherence to health and safety regulations by conducting risk assessments and fostering a culture of safety among all staff members.
  • Champion talent acquisition strategies focused on attracting top talent while also prioritising retention, motivation, and ongoing professional development within your teams.
  • Collaborate closely with senior leadership to align business unit objectives with broader organisational goals related to conservation, education, and recreation.
  • Develop effective communication channels between departments to promote teamwork and shared accountability for results.
  • Monitor market trends in hospitality and entertainment sectors to inform strategic decision-making and maintain competitive advantage.
  • Represent the business unit in key meetings with stakeholders including board members during periodic reviews.

What you bring:

To excel as General Manager – Integrated Conservation and Resort Hospitality, you will bring substantial hands-on experience from senior roles within the hospitality or related sectors. Your background should reflect not only technical proficiency in managing multifaceted operations but also genuine enthusiasm for supporting others’ growth through considerate leadership. You are someone who thrives when connecting people around shared goals—whether those relate to financial performance or advancing conservation efforts. Your approachability makes you a trusted point of contact for both staff members seeking guidance and guests looking for memorable experiences. In addition to your operational know-how, your openness to new technologies ensures that your teams remain ahead of industry trends while maintaining the highest standards of service delivery. Above all else, your integrity sets you apart as someone who leads by example—always placing communal success above individual recognition.

  • A minimum of five years’ proven experience in a senior management or general manager capacity within the hospitality industry (including tour/travel, entertainment venues, property or building management) or retail/FMCG sectors is essential.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification in Hospitality Management, Business Administration or Marketing is required.
  • Demonstrated expertise in P&L management with a track record of delivering strong financial results across complex operations.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills with an empathetic approach to team leadership; able to nurture talent while fostering collaboration across diverse groups.
  • Resilient character with high ethical standards who can be depended upon during periods of change or challenge within the business unit.
  • Sound commercial judgement combined with sensitivity towards conservation values and guest satisfaction priorities.
  • Experience leading digital transformation projects within hospitality or related industries is highly desirable.
  • Comprehensive understanding of health & safety best practices relevant to large-scale leisure or resort environments.
  • Excellent communication abilities—both written and verbal—to effectively engage stakeholders at all levels.
