We are seeking a highly knowledgeable Head of Regulatory Affairs on behalf of a prominent multinational organisation based in Jakarta. This pivotal position offers you the opportunity to shape regulatory strategy across two major business units, ensuring products meet all local and international requirements while supporting strategic growth and market access. You will play a crucial role in overseeing compliance, managing product regulatory risks, and enabling innovation within a supportive and collaborative environment. The organisation values your extensive experience in the FMCG sector, your ability to nurture teams, and your talent for building trusted relationships with regulatory authorities and industry bodies. If you are passionate about making a meaningful impact on product safety, quality, and market success, this is an exceptional opportunity to advance your career.

  • Take ownership of regulatory affairs for both specialised nutrition and water product portfolios, ensuring all products comply with evolving regulations and standards.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to drive innovation while maintaining robust compliance frameworks that support business objectives.
  • Benefit from flexible working opportunities, generous training programmes, and a culture that prioritises professional development and knowledge sharing.

What you'll do:

As Head of Regulatory Affairs, you will be entrusted with shaping the organisation’s approach to regulatory compliance across diverse product categories. Your day-to-day responsibilities will involve collaborating with internal teams to interpret complex regulations, guiding submissions through local governance procedures, engaging with external stakeholders such as BPOM and industry bodies, and championing best practices in risk management. You will also play a vital role in supporting innovation by ensuring new products are developed in line with current standards while facilitating smooth market entry. Success in this role requires you to combine deep technical expertise with outstanding interpersonal skills—enabling you to build trust both internally and externally—and a genuine passion for developing others within your team.

  • Oversee all aspects of regulatory affairs for both specialised nutrition and water business units, ensuring products consistently meet national and international regulatory requirements.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive regulatory strategies that enable timely market access for new and existing products while supporting long-term business growth.
  • Monitor changes in relevant legislation, guidelines, and policies to proactively manage regulatory risks and maintain ongoing compliance across the product portfolio.
  • Lead the preparation, submission, and follow-up of regulatory dossiers to local authorities such as BPOM, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and timeliness at every stage.
  • Cultivate strong relationships with key stakeholders including government agencies, industry associations, and internal partners to facilitate effective communication and advocacy.
  • Provide expert guidance on technical matters related to product registration, labelling, claims substantiation, and post-market surveillance activities.
  • Support cross-functional teams by offering clear interpretation of complex regulations during product development cycles to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the regulatory function by identifying best practices and implementing process enhancements that foster efficiency.
  • Mentor and develop a high-performing team by providing direction, coaching, and opportunities for professional growth within a nurturing environment.

What you bring:

To excel as Head of Regulatory Affairs, your background should reflect significant experience within the FMCG industry where you have successfully navigated complex regulatory landscapes. Your proven ability to interpret evolving legislation ensures products remain compliant while supporting innovation. You bring not only technical proficiency but also warmth in your interactions—building rapport with colleagues across departments as well as external partners. Your leadership style emphasises empathy and encouragement; you take pride in mentoring others while fostering an inclusive atmosphere where everyone feels valued. With your strategic mindset and attention to detail, you are well-equipped to anticipate challenges before they arise—ensuring seamless operations even amidst shifting requirements.

  • Minimum 15 years’ experience in regulatory affairs within the fast-moving consumer goods sector is essential for this position.
  • Comprehensive understanding of local governance procedures, policies, and technical requirements involved in regulatory submissions is required.
  • Demonstrated expertise in interpreting product regulations related to food safety, labelling, claims substantiation, packaging standards, or similar areas is highly valued.
  • Proven track record of building positive partnerships with government authorities (such as BPOM), industry associations, and other key stakeholders is necessary.
  • Strong leadership abilities including team development skills are critical for fostering a supportive work environment focused on shared success.
  • Strategic thinking capabilities that allow you to align regulatory priorities with broader business objectives are important for this role.
  • Excellent communication skills—both written and verbal—are needed for effective stakeholder engagement at all levels of the organisation.
  • Experience managing complex projects involving multiple cross-functional teams will help you thrive in this collaborative setting.
  • A commitment to continuous learning combined with adaptability when navigating changing regulations or emerging challenges is highly desirable.
